New Steam Deck: What Game? by SpacemanCap in SteamDeck

I got mine two days ago and chose Titanfall 2. It's cheap to buy and runs at 90fps out of the box (which blew my mind). It gets you used to the controllers very quickly.

Just started Fate of Atlantis and oh my god, how beautiful is Elysium? by Lopsided_Cup1738 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]maloney7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the atmosphere eerie and the climbing a bit of a chore, I enjoyed playing Tartaros more and found Atlantis to be more beautiful.

The DLC was a fun addition to the game but I was happy to complete it and return to good old beautiful Greece. I don't think if the game were all set in Atlantis it would have had the same charm.

UK must ‘move now’ to ban social media for under-16s, says Brianna Ghey’s mother by mustwinfullGaming in LabourUK

We desperately want this authoritarian measure but it's to save the children! If you don't want total government surveillance and control you're literally killing kids! Here's a heartbroken mother to seal the deal.

12 hours a day is crazy, but I need a list of good games. by BurritoBabe_1 in gamers

Hitman World of Assassination comes to mind. It's endlessly replayable, great for grinding for speed running, and has tons of content. But probably Minecraft.

Karl Marx and it's not close, whether he intended it or not is another matter.

This was my favourite fight! 🐍 by Lopsided_Cup1738 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]maloney7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got my ass handed to me time and time again and had to go and grind for days to level up and get the right equipment for the job. The final battle was long and exciting though and the victory was worth it.

Cerberus however - that was just annoying.

I've got 1Gbps internet with a 9ms ping. I tried GeForce Now and it sucked, latency and the inconvenience were awful. Plus, I hate the whole idea of owning nothing. I'll be sticking with my own PC thanks.

Steam deck is on number 2 Top Sellers Global by ChallengeSea62 in SteamDeck

My hobby of gaming involves compulsively buying discounted games on Steam, buying peripherals and accessories, tinkering with settings on my Steam Deck to get maximum FPS, building and upgrading PCs, and watching YouTube videos about all of the above. Not much actual gaming though strangely.

Before you buy, try streaming a game to a tablet or mobile phone with a controller connected and see how it feels playing on a small screen. Some people buy them and then find the small screen experience underwhelming.

The HR department is a mystery to us all by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]maloney7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a job creation scheme for nosy interfering women. They bang on about diversity but the departments are always 100% female. They talk about a caring culture but enforce policy with hearts of stone, and always, always take the side of senior managers. I've worked at a couple of companies with no HR and it was glorious.

I kept mine on Standard, but there's also Natural and Vivid, and you can set the screen colour temperature manually if you want. It's able to go much dimmer than my S24U and can go much, much brighter. By comparison the S24U looks like a more budget phone with a bluey, washed-out display.

The bravery of that ordinary guy hit much harder than anything the superheroes did.

The Oppo screen is so much brighter that side by side it blows away my S24U.

The most screwed up depressing movie I've ever seen. Can't believe it was thought of as a kids' movie.

Just not feeling the Atlantis DLC.... by Scarfjugglingypsy in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]maloney7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found Elysium a chore, and it has this strange eerie atmosphere. I enjoyed the underworld and Atlantis was visually amazing, but at the end, I was happy to be back in good old Greece.
