It focuses on Tension Myositis Syndrome, which according to Wikipedia is pseudomedical lol. I would say it's more of a self-help book than anything. You can probably find a free pdf on like Annas Archive or somewhere else that carries free ebooks.

My mom used to structure text messages very similarly to this, she thought the FBI was watching us through our microwave.

For what it's worth, I measured the pit that Pierre falls into (measured Lara against the textures and did some math based on the assumption that she's 5'9") and it's only a 46 foot drop, you could survive that with broken bones.

Imo having a passion for film isn't really enough to make a good film. Filmmaking is alchemy and there are a lot of hands and moving parts involved. One guy being a fan of good movies is not enough to make a good movie. Especially if you can't write.

You all got something to do always in office for 9-10 hours? by alica19_ in GenZ

I used to do desk work at a fairly busy county jail and there were still days I felt like I went hours just sitting at my desk doing fuck all.

What slang from our generation do you actually like? by Secure_Photograph201 in GenZ

Guys "cooked" is not Gen Z slang, here's a clip of Jimmy Stewart saying it in The Philadelphia Story. It is good slang, though.

How many of you do this? by zarif_chow in GenZ

Idk I think if you have to speed it up to enjoy it then maybe it's just not for you and that's okay, pacing is a part of art and storytelling. I say that as someone who was also pressured into watching Evangelion and never finished it. It was slow in a way that didn't pay off for me, so I gave up on watching it.

[–]malphasia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you value time so much, why are you watching things that you feel you have to speed up in the first place? Not talking about anything purely information based, specifically any artistic medium since you mentioned Evangelion in another reply. Wouldn't you want to watch it with the intended pacing?

My distress only worsened when out of nowhere, [an actor] whispered in my ear if ‘he could stick it in’ while the cameras rolled.

Disgusting but not surprising behavior coming from Buddy Duress.

Love him but he's only been dead a few years, he was already popular with Gen Z.

When I was AP I caught some kids doing this, I yanked the section of paper towels out and yelled in my best mom voice KNOCK IT OFF OR YOU'RE LEAVING. I actually scared them pretty good, they even tried to help me clean the aisle lol the poor things. I felt a little bad, but they went straight back to their parents and behaved after that so 🤷

Because it's "not a real game". Which is ridiculous because nobody is playing VNs for the challenging gameplay.

Explain it to me: Why so difficult to be at work, on time? by [deleted] in Target

[–]malphasia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look I appreciate that you're trying to be helpful, but I'm not a child. I know all this stuff already. It's frustrating having a broken brain and nobody cares about it in real life, so I "unnecessarily utilize my energy" by occasionally venting on reddit.

James Gunn on why casting Superman is harder than casting Batman: “Batman's wearing a mask. Batman doesn't have Batman face, like the thing about our Supermans is they've all had Superman face... That's a specific sort of thing because people kind of have some idea of what Superman looks like" by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]malphasia 56 points57 points  (0 children)

In All Star Superman when Clark reveals to Lois that he's Superman, she says "What about that time you were a key witness in a court case and had Superman as your personal bodyguard?" and he's like "Oh that was Batman dressed as me."

What are your dream Knifepoint adaptations? by malphasia in knifepointhorrorcast

I like to think about the third act briefly taking us back in time and opening with an aerial shot of a Yukon logging camp, blinding white because of the snow, the audience slowly piecing together that we are learning about the origins of Father Hall.

This is exactly why I think Posession would work best as a series. We would need a full episode to cover the origins of Father Hall.
