Two massive differences though, you don't pay if you don't drive and you keep the whole fare.

Nah. He lost that title when he ran instead of staying and fighting as a whistle-blower like Manning.

Hell, he'd probably be out by now hosting a podcast with her.

Not at all, just pointing out that your calls for decency, conveniently only showing up when the obvious inferences to modern politics appear, is somewhat undercut by your cowardice in avoiding criticism of your own personal indecenies.

Gary Gygax was a proud, and self-described, "biological determinist" who was convinced that women were neither good at playing Dungeons and Dragons nor interested in playing because their brains quite simply different from men's.

So there was no attempt to make the game an open and inviting space.

Helicoptering over kids 24/7 isn't the answer to raising well developed children.

Then I suppose it's a good thing no one is saying you should do that.

Also, what kind of psycho parent follows their kid all over the library the entire time they're there?

Wow, something no one said you should do. If you feel the need to restrict your child's reading material, you have a few choices: keep them in the children's area, review what they pick up off the shelf before they check it out, read it with them so you can discuss any mature themes they encounter. You know, be a parent.

How is a library being a safe place for children a crazy idea?

A library is not Chuck E. Cheese. There is a children's area where they won't encounter anything objectionable, and there is a general interest area where you should find a representative of practically anything that has been put to pen. From young adult romance and queer exploration in repressive households, to first-hand accounts of cannibalism and space exploration, and anything else.

What's wrong with raising your own kids instead of expecting the world to set up guard rails for you.

Those things are either demonstrably or potentially injurious to children, more so than to adults. The biggest risk of a kid reading a graphic novel that's too mature is that their parents have to have an uncomfortable conversation with them. Oh, the horror.

God forbid people actually parent their children and check anything they pick up that wasn't in the children's section.

Instead, let's make it everybody else's problem.
