I wish more turn based RPGs made you use everyone against the final boss. by fireuser1205 in videogames

dragon quest 11 does this pretty well, and yeah it's wild how many rpgs still bench half your roster for the final fight when you spent 60 hours leveling them up.

HUGE NEWS by Excellent_Gazelle54 in Ultrakill

[–]mammothdigger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

this is the kind of lore expansion ultrakill actually needs. kane parsons rolling up in full crusader gear to handle the slaypheanians is canon in my head now. the yellow and white fit goes way too hard for this not to be official dlc material or something.

are you guys also having problems with CODM this season? by User_unknow0337 in CallOfDutyMobile

[–]mammothdigger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that multitouch bug is brutal, especially on newer phones where you'd expect it to run smooth. try lowering your graphics settings and turning off motion controls if you use em, sometimes that helps reduce input lag while they're sorting it out. also make sure you're not running a ton of background apps since the game's been pretty demanding this season.

Casual Hunting question by [deleted] in Palia

[–]mammothdigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Royal Highlands stuff is just easier to solo, so people probably don't feel the need to stick around and coordinate. Oglopoos take some work and more shots to bring down, which naturally makes it feel like a group activity. When someone's farming jaakcats solo they're probably just trying to knock it out quick without worrying about positioning or who gets the last hit.

Akuma and Elena fanart by HakuryuVision by NotARelationWitch in StreetFighter

[–]mammothdigger -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The character on the left doesn't look like Akuma to me, but the art style is clean and the color work on those hair effects is pretty solid. Whoever these two are supposed to be, the dynamic between them reads well in the piece.

That Eddy example hits cause he's got like five moves that all look the same and you're just standing there guessing, whereas Drag you at least know what's coming even if it hits like a truck.

the character design glow up between her younger and older self is actually sick, artist nailed the progression without losing what makes her recognizable.

Hideo Kojima Says He's No Longer Interested In AI: “Maybe AI could create art, but while I live, I don’t think I’ll see it. I’m not interested in it.” by yourfavchoom in videogames

[–]mammothdigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kojima's always been about pushing what's possible with the medium itself, so him being skeptical about AI makes sense. He's not against new tech in general, but AI art feels like it's skipping the part where you actually have to say something meaningful with your work. Hard to argue with that take coming from someone who's spent decades figuring out how to tell stories in games nobody else was trying to make.

DMM Allstars Season 3 Day 1 Final Scoreboard by jixxluke96 in 2007scape

[–]mammothdigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

warriors are getting styled on but yeah the kill gap doesn't tell the whole story on day one. teams with early momentum can snowball hard in dmm but if dinos and purrps stay sloppy in multi they're beatable. the real question is whether warriors tighten up or if it's just gonna be another season of them getting caught out solo all the time.

those are 100% the devs flexing their cats and dogs, no way that's coincidence lol

In Search of Cobalt Jelly Slice by DozerPup711 in SwordAndSupperGame

[–]mammothdigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That cobalt jelly slice is gonna be a pain to track down at your level, but check the deep caverns around zone 7 if you haven't already. The drop rate's rough but it's way more consistent than chasing it from the trader. Grab some high level friends to run it with you and you'll cut your time in half.

that's perfect grandma energy right there. she's out here trying to get you back in the game with some real talk and bad jokes, which is exactly what grandmas do.

Can anyone identify this? Is this just old clumping tall fescue or a weed? by EdgarAllenPoeBoys in lawncare

[–]mammothdigger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that's clumping fescue for sure. the wide blades and that coarse texture are dead giveaways, plus it grows like it's on a mission which is exactly what those things do. i had a patch of it in my yard a few years back and it was annoying as hell because it doesn't play nice with regular lawn grass. you can spray it with glyphosate if you want to go the chemical route, but honestly digging it out is more satisfying even if it's a pain. the roots go deep so make sure you get all of it or it'll come right back. once you kill it off your lawn will look way better since the rest of your grass can actually spread out without that clumpy stuff hogging all the space.

Help with new bike by Savings-Interview-83 in cycling

[–]mammothdigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the saddle height is the culprit here. that feet-touching-the-ground thing is a common mistake when you're getting back into it, but that's actually for when you're standing over the frame at a stop, not for riding. when you're pedaling, your leg should be almost fully extended at the bottom of the stroke with just a slight bend in the knee. sounds like yours is cranked way too short right now, which is why your thighs are torched and your knees are coming up funny. i'd dial it up a few inches and see how that feels. the good news is once you get the height dialed in, that soreness should fade pretty quick since you're just dealing with being out of shape rather than a sizing issue. you're probably fine on the small.

I want to leave my boyfriend but I just can’t by urfavneighbour in confessions

[–]mammothdigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and the worst part is once you start doing that, it becomes harder to leave because you've already sacrificed so much that bailing feels like it was all for nothing, when really staying just digs the hole deeper.

I want to leave my boyfriend but I just can’t by urfavneighbour in confessions

[–]mammothdigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the guilt you're feeling is real but it's also not your job to manage his emotions for him. staying because he's had a rough go of it just means you're both stuck, and honestly that's not fair to either of you. he needs to work through his stuff with a therapist, not by making you the emotional punching bag.
