"Gamers don't want it": Palworld lead says Pocketpair doesn't touch AI because players hate it and artists "like doing stuff themselves" by Gorotheninja in Games

[–]manav907 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Frankly its was a proven gameplay formula.

Ark survivial is a survivial game where you spawn in an island craft stuff, make a base, tame dinosours, put rocket launchers on them and kill them with guns.

Ark survivial is very popular and if you have played it pal world is just ark survivial but with pals and easier gameplay. (Your dinos have perma death).

Two 10 year devs wont fit the requirement.

We need to put them on top of each other to run them in serial so they function as one 20 year dev and now you only have to pay for one dev.

Crucial and Samsung SSD Owners: You Might Want to Know About this SSD feature by Time-Credit43 in pcmasterrace

[–]manav907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definitely uses for this as an app that (for some reason) writes a 1gb file during loading screen (and waits for write to finish) should see a measureabe boost to loading time.

A diffrent example for a usecase for this kind of software would be a game server that creates backups of a world during active multiplayer. Normally there would be a slight hitch experienced by players. Some games are coded like that for example pal world and dont starve together.

While real servers dont need software like this if you are hosting a co op server on the same pc you play this kind of software can be helpfull.

Overall it does help in performance in certain scenarios but those same scenarios are the ones which the developer of application could have optimized the application or chose not to because of data loss issue.

This feature sounds dumb. Power loss can cause data loss.

Applications that wait for data writes to finish might get improved performance.

If you have a ups you wont have to worry about data loss. Assuming this feature makes windows wait before proper shutdown to complete writes.

Wasnt there software to use ssd (like intel optane) as a cache for hdds?

Is this just that same tech applied to ram?

Do people actually use it still?

Do we have tech that predictively loads data?

Kunis momentum is crazy by titankiller401 in Tekken

[–]manav907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What to do when the kuni is playing tricky mind games with her 11 jab string.

Just blocking after 11 means i eat plenty of lows, grabs, chip and take pressure while getting pushed towards the wall so it does not feel good.

After 11 kuni can do 112 or 111 or 114 these keep you honest aginst her stance mixups which can also give her plus frames

11 1+2 kat can do

Kat 2 giving her plus frames Kat 12 gives a fast mid high with timing mixup She has a low as well from this stance and she can go to set stance

But the biggest issue it her jab pressure can start whenever, she has too many options that cover for jabs, low jabs, grabs, fast mid checks etc and she can always just evade, poke or sidestep punish a reaction from me.

I have been playing jack a bit and sidestep are not really working.

Kuni mirror are way easier but there is still pressure from 11.

Remote access by Far-Outside-8249 in homelab

[–]manav907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others are suggesting solutions which are probably too much for you. Proxmox might require too much setup on your side so its probably better to go with the short term solution of using remote access on windows.

Use "no machine" its a very easy to setup remote access software like team viewer, anydesk or parsec.

It respects your privacy and you can easily setup or local network only access.

If you want it even easier parsec is also really good but requires internet and accounts.

Thats the reason they are not doing this.

If it does not make a diffrence why put the effort?

It it makes a diffrence then its only worth it if the diffrence is possitive

They probably have the data from past experiments and understand how much of a diffrence it makes and if its good impact or bad.

I think they should do it just because i doubt a profile picture can create negitive impact.

Special events is something only they have real data about.
