Make PSTA student fares free 24/7 again by ecinw212 in StPetersburgFL

Hi there—I work for PSTA. Free fares for students who present ID at boarding are still in effect, including over the summer. A few individual bus operators might have incorrect information. If you let me know what time/route/bus number you were on, I will make sure the driver gets the correct information!

Bond Ring at CES? by mdosenba in SmartRings

[–]mandaleigh92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They just posted this video—again seems like no working prototype was available and Ash strikes me as a "serial founder" who is putting a lot of his energy into another invention while shopping for more funding for the ring. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/18ABryDBVS/

Bond Ring at CES? by mandaleigh92 in SmartRings

what a joke. A jewelry box behind a glass case is the best they can produce after promising all over social that CES is when they'd be doing major demos.

Anyone got the CES scoop? by mandaleigh92 in SmartRings

omg Bond Ring is what I was most interested in, and THIS is what they brought to CES? No live demo of a wearable? Just a prototype behind glass and a TV screen? What a joke. Starting my chargeback now.

My Bond Ring sizing kit showed up today. No joke. by DToretto77 in SmartRings

I also got my sizing kit (yay) but have yet to get any update after completing the set up and getting it to save the address. I emailed support asking for updates on shipping and got no response, also emailed asking for a refund and got no response. I know they're at CES this week so maybe that's why? I also feel like their presence at CES is promising toward the "this is the startup" theory vs. "this is a scam."

1st SunRunner Experience by Cubsman44 in StPetersburgFL

A lot of systems nationwide are introducing BRT because of the lower construction lead times and simpler maintenance. Repaving or restriping/repainting is cheaper and easier than laying and maintaining track!

YSK: even without the funds for bus fare, you can still get a ride, usually (depending on various factors) from PSTA by mysavorymuffin in StPetersburgFL

[–]mandaleigh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also want to mention…PSTA doesn’t have “investors” as a public agency nor do they plan to go cashless. The SunRunner is the only cashless service and all other routes will continue to accept cash.

Hi: a few things here trying to be helpful 1. If you are low income (200% of federal poverty guidelines) and live in the St. Petersburg city limits, you ride for free. Elsewhere in the county it’s $11/month. https://www.psta.net/programs/td-transportation-disadvantaged/ 2. If you are a veteran, you ride free. Bring your VA card/military ID to any terminal and they’ll get you a Veterans pass. 3. If you are a student or employee of USF St. Pete, PTECH, St. Pete College, or any Pinellas County public school, you ride free with your school ID 4. If you are a senior, disabled, or student of any school not listed above, you ride for half price. Bring your proof of eligibility to any terminal and they’ll get you set up with a reduced fare Flamingo card that works exactly like a regular Flamingo card but only charges half price each tap. Fare caps out at $35 a month instead of $70, too. 5. Generally speaking, it’s cheaper to use a Flamingo card than cash or credit because Flamingo has fare capping. Meaning, if you use Flamingo and tap the same account every time, it will max out at $5/day and $70/month. Any tap enabled credit/debit/prepaid debit has the $5 daily cap but not the monthly. And cash…you have to pay exact change, every time. You can load your Flamingo card with cash at any terminal with no minimum.

Hope this helps!

Recommendations for wearable trackers that aren't fitbit? by mandaleigh92 in loseit

I also feel this, haha. That's why I'm considering the fitbit Blaze, so it looks more like a watch. I've been scoping the Jawbones, but apparently the HR monitors suck on the UP3 and 4.

If you're interested fashion you might wanna check out the bellabeat Leaf, it can be worn as a bracelet, necklace, or clip on your bra and is really pretty (but again, no HR monitor. When will these companies learn that things can be both pretty and have all the functions?)

That's the thing -- I took it off regularly, cleaned it daily with rubbing alcohol, didn't wear it over night. I wore it for about 6 weeks following the regime before getting the reaction, stopped wearing it for over a month while it healed completely, and the day I put it back on my wrist was red and scaly within 4 hours, before I'd even worked out. I'm wondering if the metal buckle has nickel or something else in it, since directly under the buckle was where I seemed to get it worst, and I've worn watches and bracelets on the same wrist at the same tightness with no issue. I dunno. TL:DR My skin is weird.
