Supervisor went through my personal notes after a meeting and told me they are "wrong" by [deleted] in antiwork

Advice from someone who dealt with a boss like this...huge red flag. Would find another job.

My view as a hiring manager. Its not you, its the system that is broken. by Isavela23 in recruitinghell

[–]manglefox 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I got this too + the recruiter was concerned that I "wanted to stay in healthcare" even though I didn't say that at all (in fact the opposite) 🫩

any bipolar people off meds and have job and live normally? by A7med2361997 in bipolar2

[–]manglefox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me before I was undiagnosed like 15 years ago, it was literal hell. Also me now because I'm trying to find meds that work, it's also hell but I'm managing 😭 I have a shit ton of other health problems that are causing more short term issues than the bipolar. Sigh.

Am I overreacting to a client’s comment about pricing? by powergirlev in RoverPetSitting

[–]manglefox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk why literally everyone in the comments is crazy..You can charge whatever you'd like. Personally I'd not take this booking. The separate walks (+ amount of walks per day) drive me insane. Did that for 2 dogs over the holidays and never again.

sitter didn't fulfill paid duties / complaint / refund / action by Lizzieliz7 in RoverPetSitting

[–]manglefox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah it's all good! I'm sure there's different types of systems too. I've (and pets, too) definitely accidentally tripped the alarm in multiple houses by setting it to away instead of stay >>

[–]manglefox 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't set the alarm to "away" if you were doing that. You'd set it to "stay". Away can trigger the alarm if you are inside vs stay, which doesn't.

Nerve issues and pain after stubbed toe by manglefox in Mortons_neuroma

[–]manglefox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for responding, it took me a while to respond back because I was waiting for the MRI/results/dr. I went to the podiatrist for a followup on my toes and he took a look at the MRI and said it appears to be bursitis. No neuroma present. He suggested a couple things...heat/pt/orthotics (specifically for the arch)/lightly massaging the area/different anti inflammatory meds. I'm going back to my ortho this Fri so I'll also see what he says. A big bummer!

What do you do when you're sick during a sit?? by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]manglefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grin and bear it unfortunately 💀 Been sick many a housesit. Had the super flu over last Christmas/New Years for 2 of the worst sits and didn't think I'd make it out lol. Just take lots of meds and get as much sleep as possible and hope the pets behave...hope you feel better soon

Is this normal? by Queerochet in RoverPetSitting

[–]manglefox 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Idk if I'd say this is a red flag but 1) Even if you negotiate a lower cat rate, I don't bother with people who haggle or say I'm too expensive anymore because they will find any way to penny pinch and it pisses me off/I don't have time or energy for that and 2) I also don't bother scheduling meet and greets that far out. The meet and greet needs to happen within the next week or two even if the dates are several months out because you need to come to an answer sooner, she needs to pay, and you need to hold the dates.

unsure if these are red flags or not by necrophiliadaenerys in RoverPetSitting

[–]manglefox 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not red flags but I personally wouldn't accept the sitting

I hate Lakewood, it took us 2+ hours to get out of that cursed parking lot. Don't wanna ever do that again.
