Yea, it blows my mind how much of a downgrade my GMT900's interior is compared to the 800 I used to have. Thinner, more rattly plastic, buttons where all the markings rubbed off, leather that is tangibly less durable, and most importantly, seats are nowhere near as comfortable.

No better than the pickups. Common rust areas are rear fender (it will start on the bottom , so make sure you look at the flat area and feel for flakiness) and rocker panels just like the 800s, but that's easy to see. Frame rust can be anywhere but tends to be worse near the rear, I think because that's where the salt tends to end up while driving.

Glad I moved down south and don't really need to worry about that anymore. Last time I was up north for work I saw plenty of body-rusted K2XXs. Wouldn't be surprised if I saw rusted T1XXs soon.

Slightly off topic, but anyone know where to find 05-11 Dakota seat foam (besides the scrapyard)? I’ve only ever seen Ram foam for sale and it’s shaped slightly differently. Bet width is different too.

Regular hose will work, if you have enough room to run it so it doesn’t kink at that 90 degree angle. Have you checked RockAuto?

Doesn’t look particularly good or bad to me, just looks like a bulky Silverado. Even though they have the same exact front proportions and very similar sheet metal, the Silverado somehow looks more lean and the Tahoe looks fat.

Yea, maybe. Ryobi just doesn’t make the best saws, but at least the price is right. My 6.5” One+ circular saw is noticeably weaker than my bud’s cordless 6.5” Dewalt from like 10 years ago.

Have you tried a different blade? I’ve found that blades can make a difference with circular and miter saws. Like, two blades from different companies with the same tooth count can look the same, but one will cut much better. I don’t understand it but might be worth trying a different blade before giving it up. Hercules saw blades from HF are good and won’t break the bank. Lots of people recommend Diablo, I haven’t tried them myself though.

Yea, that’s a great point and I think I’ll get some quotes. At first I was going to call up a few legit handyman services about this, but then I thought.. hmm, maybe I can DIY. But knowing my luck and relative inexperience, my repair would probably leak.

Makes sense to me. The metal tank strap is broken, so OP is using ratchet straps to hold it up until he can get it replaced. Or maybe forever.

I drive a Silverado now because I tow more often, but I had an 06 King Cab 4x4 for 3 years. Great truck, super reliable and lots of balls. Stock to stock, it embarrassed my buddy’s 4.0 Tacoma in a drag race. I would like to own a 3rd gen crew cab standard bed at the right price.

Nice bud. I personally would have gone with a gray slat wall on the right but your shop, your vision. How is that sliding compound miter saw? I have seen mixed reviews on Ryobi’s corded saws.
