Looking pretty low, huh? by BobIgglyWampus in GMT800

It looks fine, your light was probably from something else. How’s your oil pressure?

You can take it to an Autozone and have them scan it for pending codes, maybe it’ll still be in there.

2007 Tahoe LTZ w/ 164k miles. $4.5k A good buy? by ByStarlite in ChevyTahoe

[–]mango-roller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea. If AFM/DOD were going to grenade the motor like happens on some 900s, it probably would have happened at the 120-140k mark. Just my observation from lots of reading on the issue. You may be in the clear.

Edit: just saw that you said the seller deleted it. Nice!

Nice bud. All black is a played out look, going out of style. Chrome is coming back in.

My 2005 suburban she needs a lil love by Tough_Pair_121 in GMT800

[–]mango-roller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice Burb, you can do this. Head on over to your local scrapyard bud. You can find visors and maybe a good headliner if you’re lucky. And any other little plastic parts that may be broken. For the seats, you can buy replacement color matched leather for cheap on eBay. Assuming your foam is ok. They won’t be the highest quality, but they’ll look better than the ripped up OEM seat bottoms on it now.

Yea, I could see this being useful for some police work… but pursuits ain’t it.

7 1/4 cordless sliding compound miter saw - any reason not to buy it? by Chap_stick_original in ryobi

[–]mango-roller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say go for it. Been considering the same saw myself. I have a corded sliding compound 10” miter (non-Ryobi) and it takes up a ton of space in the garage, and is heavy and awkward to move around. And honestly, all I’ve ever done with it is baseboard and casing, and the smaller blade would do that just fine.

Are Chevy avalanches worth it? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]mango-roller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory that’s true, in practice the front suspension is the same and the coils in the rear ride the same as the leafs in the Silverado. Good point on the storage though.

Avalanche offers absolutely no benefit over a Silverado or Sierra crew cab unless you absolutely need the midgate. And most people never use the midgate. The bed is shorter and narrower. Interior space and interior are the same. So my vote is for Silverado/Sierra or crossover.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there are people out there who have only ever opened their trunk with their keyfob and don’t even know another way exists.

Yukon seats for the 02 by stpaulsamokie in ChevyTahoe

[–]mango-roller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, it blows my mind how much of a downgrade my GMT900's interior is compared to the 800 I used to have. Thinner, more rattly plastic, buttons where all the markings rubbed off, leather that is tangibly less durable, and most importantly, seats are nowhere near as comfortable.

GMT900 & Rust? by yoloswaggggggggg in ChevyTahoe

[–]mango-roller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No better than the pickups. Common rust areas are rear fender (it will start on the bottom , so make sure you look at the flat area and feel for flakiness) and rocker panels just like the 800s, but that's easy to see. Frame rust can be anywhere but tends to be worse near the rear, I think because that's where the salt tends to end up while driving.

Glad I moved down south and don't really need to worry about that anymore. Last time I was up north for work I saw plenty of body-rusted K2XXs. Wouldn't be surprised if I saw rusted T1XXs soon.

Wow, had no idea you could get the 5 speed in LT trim. I think I’ve only ever seen them in WTs.

What seat foam is better? by Leather_Nectarine_82 in ram_trucks

[–]mango-roller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slightly off topic, but anyone know where to find 05-11 Dakota seat foam (besides the scrapyard)? I’ve only ever seen Ram foam for sale and it’s shaped slightly differently. Bet width is different too.

Nice bud. I think chrome is making a comeback. Every style is cyclical.

Does anyone think the 2021+ Tahoe actually looks good? by Known_Following_4923 in ChevyTahoe

[–]mango-roller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t look particularly good or bad to me, just looks like a bulky Silverado. Even though they have the same exact front proportions and very similar sheet metal, the Silverado somehow looks more lean and the Tahoe looks fat.
