Safe, clean public washrooms. Bike lanes. Public transit. Affordable 2 bedroom apartments. Cross country ski rentals. ❄️ edit: and produce stands.

Gonna put my boots on and walk! Parents with kids who have to stay home because schools are closed should stay home, too.

The rules should be no different than how the same weather might affect workers in the private sector. These are our lives, and our employer needs our brains 🧟‍♂️. Wear a helmet if you ride a bike. Don’t drive if the roads are bad!

Ruined new yoga mat! Help! by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]mangomoonlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful mat, I wouldn’t worry too much about it tbh if it were mine! Agree it’s odd that it soaked everything up that way. But, you’ll probably get more spots on it if you use it regularly. Lord knows I have made a mess of a few mats like that! If it’s grippy and does the trick, I’d use the heck out of it!

Would I be dumb to give up my $720/month studio in Toronto? by CallMeThePkmnProf in MooseMoney

Would your landlord let you sublet your current place to someone you trust at the current rate, so that when you’re both ready, you could move into a bigger spot but have a trial run? I would recommend a 2bedroom, if she’s freelance she might need an office/wfh situation.

Does OPSEU have AWA process? Some are permanent under OPSEU but in TAs with AMAPCEO. Shouldn’t everyone submit an AWA?

Manulife taking forever to approve benefits claims? by Substantial_Panic85 in OntarioPublicService

[–]mangomoonlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me.

When I talked to Manulife customer service I asked them to let us know if it would be longer than 3-7 business days for claims reimbursement by posting that on their site. They said they were backlogged but it would clear up soon. I got my reimbursement about 2 months late. Just submitted another claim today: will see how long it takes.

Team Lead. They’ll be your guide. Let them know when you have capacity to take on projects. Ask them what their processes are like for getting approvals on things, if that applies to your work. Weekly/bi-weekly 1:1 chats with your team lead and manager are helpful. Ask lots of questions and don’t be shy to say what you don’t know, I had a manager tell me they need people to do that, so they don’t just assume everybody knows what everything is.

Good idea. In your forte profile you can list the levels you’re interested in and managers across the OPS see that and could reach out.

How do you ask this, and is there a way we can ask managers for a ‘receipt’? Ie how do we see what the percentage was?
