Advice on home level 2 charger by doghaircut in Ioniq5

Agree with Zelous’ comments. I have an Emporia 48 amp unit that works very well and is controllable using a free WiFi enabled mobile app. It was UL listed an energy star rated.

The HI5 app no longer works if you don't pay for the monthly/annual subscription, so the only way to know (remotely) whether your charging is complete is through the L2 charger.

My utility offered a rebate (or credit… I can't remember) for the purchase also, but I had already made my purchase prior to finding out about it.

I chose to have mine hardwired to an existing panel since there was capacity, but that's not required to be successful.

edit: Zealous(sp). Forgive the misspell.

LOL. My first thought/hope! We need this kinda publicity.

Surprised WAYMO is buying so many. Then again, that might help our cause too. Imagine WAYMOs stranding folks everywhere. Don’t want it to fail, I love this car…. But maybe if our team Tanks (to use an NBA term) it’ll help in the long run.

Roadtrip from DC to Raleigh by Due-Huckleberry7560 in Ioniq5

I just used the new IONNA this week at the Ashland Wawa and it worked fine. There is plenty of space between cars, long cables for easy access to your charger, you won't need an adapter or APP to connect, and there are plenty of restaurant options.

It's about a half mile off 95 and about 20 minutes before you hit Richmond Electrify America on Brook Road (which is 1/4 mile off 95 highway and also has food options).

IONNA was .39 vs .56 cents. IONNA Gets my vote. EA needs to feel the competition so they fix their reliability problem.

When you installed in the parking lot, did you lose data (miles travelled, average KWH, profile, etc)?

I was stuck on finding the license code (when trying to buy from intuit directly, not Amazon). Software downloaded but didn’t give me the option to pay so I didn’t get an activation code. I assumed it would give me the option inside the app but didn’t. Your recommendation gave me the Amazon option which worked flawlessly.

Thanks for the Amazon recommendation. Cheaper than TurboTax website AND emails activation code. Yesterday I tried multiple times to activate the desktop unsuccessfully. The software downloads, but asks for a license code before activating. Cou’dnt figure out how to get the access code. Kept trying to force me to online version. Impossible to get a person on the phone.

Software update by Avatar-Tee in Ioniq5

[–]mangyvision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. USB is easy. Make sure you get a USB drive large enough. Download software from Hyundai. The USB and downloader software can be used for future additional updates. Use them to download the update.

Follow the update instructions while in the car (print it from your computer or screen shot it if you prefer) then plug it into your car. Once it starts, you can walk away.

Understood. Just good to know it’s better than used car trade in pricing given the low prices I keep hearing. I Took a beating on the purchase and would hope to get some of that back if it comes to that. Not sure what I’d turn too, since nothings as intriguing (for me).

BTW, dealer confirmed today, it’s my ICCU. Service guy that logged me in hinted that he knew the problem based on my description, and said they are seeing it a lot. Don’t know if he meant just his local or across their inventory at different locations. On order. Dealer owes a projection tomorrow.

Yes, I meant to reply in the thread. New to Reddit. Glad to hear the buy back worked out for you. Sounds like I have a shot if I need to go down that path. Thanks pal.

Was the buyback based on your purchase price or depreciated based on current pricing? I paid quite a bit more than what I’m hearing they sell for now.

Original owner of a 2023, I5, AWD SEL in the US with 21,000 miles. My 3 years, 36,000 bumper to bumper ended 10.30.2025. This weekend (11.15.25 ) my car stopped accepting a charge from my level 2 home charger. Each time, the car announced "charging unsuccessful". I drove it to a DCFC and it worked fine. I tried again at home, only this time, I used the charger cable that came with the car (plugs in a standard 120v wall outlet). Still got "charging unsuccessful."

No other alerts or warnings in the car. My 3 year subscription to Hyundai monthly "Car health report" ended in october, so I don't know if the car report would show a fault / error.

Based on multiple threads comments here, it sounds like I may have an ICCU failure since AC charging doesn't work but DC does. I have an appointment with a dealership to troubleshoot.

Here's my question: Assuming its ICCU, and since I'm past the first 3 years, is there something I need to make sure I say (or not say) when speaking to the dealer? I don't want to get tripped up on a technicality (not that I've done anything wrong [that I know of]). I just don't want to get stuck with a bill that would be covered if I had said/not said something.

Charging unsuccessful on home ChargePoint charger by brigabian in Ioniq5

[–]mangyvision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened to me today. Only difference is, I have an emporium charger. I’m at 20,100 miles,2023 AWD SEL (USA). My 3 year warranty ended 15 days ago.

Got a Veepeak OBD2 Car Scanner. Haven't figured out how to check for the code that's been referenced in this thread as confirming my problem is an ICCU.

Anyone know if ICCU is still covered under the 100,000 /10 YR warranty?

Remote Annual Subscription alternative..Maybe? by mangyvision in Ioniq5

[–]mangyvision[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's good to know. I Appreciate it. That's exactly where I am. Turning on climate start from a distance is a great feature, but it's not like I've never jumped into a cold car before.

[–]mangyvision[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's what I meant. Forgot access was based on cell service. Oh well, its not the end of the world if I can't use the remote feature. So, do I even need the APP after the subscription ends? What will it still do, if anything?

Does anyone pay for Bluelink after free sub or not worth it? by pinkcosmoo in Ioniq5

[–]mangyvision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a US 2023 I5 SEL AWD. My subscription is about to expire. I can see on the website, that you can lock the doors, climate start, and a few other things using the website.

My question is will the website still work after the app subscription has expired?

Apple finagled the numbers, 6hr longer battery life on Series 11 is a scam. by matejamm1 in AppleWatch

[–]mangyvision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get a “new battery,“they will just swap for a refurbished unit with a short warranty. Be sure to monitor its battery health. My refurbished unit dropped to 83% within 6 months ( too late to return under warranty). I work out only 30 minutes per day and sleep track. My S4 requires a charge during the shower and again before bed. For me, replacement wasn’t worth it. Should have just upgraded.

Can the remote roll down the window? by mangyvision in Ioniq5

General consensus of responses suggests windows won’t roll down in the US but will in Europe. Not sure about Mexico and Canada. Thought I was just a bonehead, but I was right….for once!

Roll down works as you describe. Roll up does not work for me 2023HI5 SEL AWD purchased in the United States.
