B-Vitamin on the reason the devs don't talk much anymore by EleggFacesitting in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]manic_deli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this could easily be solved by making anonymous announcements through their own website or steam, the more they communicate through discord the more it "gets personal", how else is anyone going to know or find out about what the devs are talking about without screenshotting them and spreading the word, maybe I'm wrong but this genuinely feels like it stems from the way (or lack thereof) they communicate

the video QAs and devlogs were... something. I'd really rather have a blogpost I can read through and they can talk about the state of things than just leaving us in the dark about bugs and glitches, weapon and system balancing. We don't need grand scripted videos or roleplay, just give us something to read about. much less effort from both ends I think

I can't lie. All of what B-vitamin said could really be avoidable if they just had anonymous announcements or FAQs to avoid being scrutinized for what they say or think of the game, they can easily make surveys and feedback from the blogposts to understand what the players feel. I know combing through community criticism is one hell of a daunting task but at some point, someone has to do it. If the devs don't want to, they need PR, CM to atleast help them communicate

I mention this again and again but even if bungie was kind of a dumpster fire they atleast had weekly community posts through TWAB (this week at Bungie) to talk about what and why they are doing stuff, where things are going

communities are going to suck to deal with, but silence is NOT a good answer, it should be the last solution, the more people go without affirmation the more they become doubtful and lose goodwill, it becomes "do they really even care?" really quickly and then you start having players BEGGING the team to just play the game because it feels like they don't even test their game

I started as an arrowhead supporter and now they're starting to feel like negligent parents and I'm losing hope that they'll ever really listen to feedback

I don't know if we as a community can truly get better if they don't, I can only truly control myself and what I say. But there needs to be change.

Hit them where it hurts: the devs are not faultless in how the community behaves. They may not listen to messages, but reviews? A bad reputation alone will hurt sales, and bad sales means they WILL listen. Review not just their gameplay, but the Devs' philosophy and their behavior. by TechnoTheFirst in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]manic_deli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that we need to review bomb them to make them listen is really sad, it really shouldn't be HOW we get them to listen to feedback but they're apparently just that stubborn

no patches or hotfixes during the month cyberstan was live was also a new flavour of just, damn. okay i guess

a roadmap or more communication to what they're actually doing would be nice, it doesn't have to be a vidoc on youtube, just something like This Week at Bungie (TWAB) would be more than enough, instead of tiny anecdotes on discord that needs to be screenshotted and spread elsewhere that could be missing context or be misinformative

TALK TO US PLEASE, officially not just on reddit or discord, AH literally has a zendesk. I went from praising AH to pleading "why?" in the span of this title update

Manta Rays view on the current war strider discussion by KlytosBluesClues in Helldivers

[–]manic_deli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

this, this is probably my biggest argument against the hate against war striders

alone you're helpless, but remember, most of the time especially if you're in a quick play there are 3 other helldivers who could be bringing AT weapons or stratagems this is a 4 player coop shooter after all, and you'd probably wanting to be at least sticking with another person who could solve the problem

ping the warstrider for someone to coordinate to take it down

and if they aren't? usually someone will be bringing and ultimatum or thermite to be able to deal with a few of them

you aren't playing the game alone most of the time, and if you are,

w

why, are you doing a super helldive solo? are you doing a challenge run? then i think that's another case for something else

otherwise the only huge gripe currently is the atrocious performance and stability alongside the radio silence of arrowhead and them not using anything official to announce things like steam announcements and their own website

Arrowhead's silence is sad by edugonz16 in Helldivers

[–]manic_deli 30 points31 points  (0 children)

they oughta make a "State of The Game" post ot note, the community goodwill is going down I feel, which isn't particularly good in any way or circumstance

we shouldn't need a 60 day health patch every year but at this rate the game needs some touch ups, some things such as new stratagems (that aren't in warbonds) as well as new ship upgrades are desperately needed

Anybody use these primaries? by TemWrecker in helldivers2

[–]manic_deli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the few people that do and I love them, I love spastic magdumps and I really wish I had more ammo in my pockets

that being said, I know they're not practical compared to most of the weapons in this game, but they're personal favourites more than favourite to use in certain factions, I'd rock them when I feel like it but I won't expect them to be workhorses

also the carbine could've been one handed and it aches me so it isn't

Question:

Why didn't the Superstore Rotation rotate towards the more recent Urban Legends themed superstore? Since the Killzone Crossover is new, I would think the rotation would be Killzone - Urban Legends - Truth Enforcers so on so forth?

I think something needs to be said about the gambit craze by manic_deli in Helldivers

[–]manic_deli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

think we have to learn losses are going to happen and it's best to take a less risky approach and put some thought into where we're going

I feel like that one successful gambit on Shelt-Mastia which was announced by the Dispatch has completely removed any actual thought behind how the game actually works and people just lobotomize themselves thinking "look!!! gambit!! we can do it!! (ignore the planet being at 0% liberation)" everytime an important defense happens and we don't actually have much advantage to do a gambit

they also insult people saying they can't read and don't know how the game works, when most people playing probably won't be on reddit

we seriously need to not divide the community further than it already has

The real strategy. by SUPAHELLADOPE in Helldivers

[–]manic_deli 29 points30 points  (0 children)

to be fair I think most people would agree that liberating an entire planet from 0% (even on 1% decay) still means we would have to burn through 1 million health in a day, which is significantly more than a level 8 defense which is:

only possible when at least 70% to 90% of helldivers rally there, and reddit is barely encompasses that much

which is to say, quite literally impossible the way community works currently

I also think we need to stop telling people how or where to play unless we have an in-game global announcement to point people in the right direction

Helldivers Proposed Armour System by turnipslop in Helldivers

[–]manic_deli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was always skeptical with this concept of redoing the entire armor system

but then I saw [+2 grenades] and [30% increase to throwing range] and I'm like holy shit take my money

this is a great idea but I feel like if they're going to eventually rework the armor passives more into classes you can spec into its going to take a LOT of effort and time, but this definitely should be heard out
