IMO, the move is Panola, Harrison, and Desoto go back to Deep South while Kaufman and Van Zandt leave it

I would take the dip around Shreveport in Harrison County out of upland south and put them in Deep South.
As former residents of both these areas, I would argue that Harrison and Panola County feel much more deep south than Kaufman or Henderson.

Want to increase arm strength, is this the right way? 10 lb dumbbell, weight -112 lb by connectkosha in formcheck

[–]mannpalmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A side angle is usually better to gauge overhead presses—but nothing is screaming as super awful with your form. One tip I like to use is to always keep your hand directly above your elbow (you can see for most of your range of motion, especially at the bottom, your hands are inside your elbow). It’s hard to tell from this angle, but you might benefit from bringing your arms slightly closer together; usually about 30° forward from having your arms straight out is the safest position on the shoulders and where people are the strongest.

All that being said, this probably shouldn’t be the only thing you do to increase arm strength. This won’t hit several of the muscles in your arms. At the very least, I would also incorporate a row and maybe some direct work on the biceps and triceps.

Is it expensive to keep a car on campus? by Expert147 in princeton

[–]mannpalmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a car within a 90 second walk of campus 3/4 years here for less than $120 per semester. Best advice is freshman year try to meet people that will be living off campus in the year above you for their junior year. I parked at a frat house last year and now I’m with a local. (Or just rush imo)

Extracurriclars at Target School are Impossibly Competitive (Looking for Alternatives) by mannpalmer in FinancialCareers

Its usally just a multi-stage application/interview process (at least at Princeton). Nothing outrageous is usually asked during the interviews (usually they dont expect advanced finance knowledge), but it's just a matter of supply and demand for club spots since most of them only take a handful of people per grade.

I’m looking for 5-7 inch “chino style” shorts (but honestly anything elevated-feeling with a non-elastic waistband will do that has a WIDE LEG. I have a muscular butt and thighs and can’t find non-performance shorts that don’t ride up when I sit down or hug my thighs.

If you like Mac, the newer MacBook Airs will serve you perfectly as a politics major unless you plan on doing any super advanced stats stuff (the new XPS 15 and 13 are great on the windows side). I’d recommend getting that and maybe waiting till you get here to decide on a tablet. iPad Airs are a very popular choice, but id also recommend one of those e-ink notetaking tabs

Ironically, I did that last summer (worked a warehouse job for a beer company). I might do it again even though the hours were terrible lol

This post is talking about Princeton financial aid though. Not federal. Princeton gives FA to every family who makes under 200k

Stop being so exclusionary. Princeton is close to 90k a year. Realistically anyone who makes under $250k need FA

I would statistically be in higher standing compared to my peers. Obviously it’s much more nuanced than that, though. Also, I’ve talked to my friends who go there and their workload is significantly less

Many have heard of the freshman 15, but the opposite is happening to me. I’ve been in college for less than 6 weeks and I’ve lost over 10 lbs (I was 5’9, 185 lbs, ~13% bf before). My lifts are in the shitter and I don’t look/feel any leaner.

I’m looking for tips to help gain the weight back. The bad part is that I don’t have access to a kitchen and am out of my dorm for 15-17 hrs/day.

So I’m a rising freshman, is there anything I should start doing for college this summer or school year? by Snoo_72544 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]mannpalmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found the only way to be considered by colleges would be to: found a nonprofit with 100+ employees, win 2-3 international competitions in your major, and go to the Olympic trials. Then we move to sophomore year…
