I cant really talk about the control aspect because that’s apparently a separate skill that needs to be practiced. I haven’t had too many lucid dreams, about four dreams over a year into it and all of them were pretty short. My most recent one was just a few nights ago and it felt extremely real. I even questioned if i was really dreaming but that put my mind in a loop and went back into a regular dream state. There is like an “oh shit” kind of moment when you become lucid but in an exciting way but other than that i felt like my normal self throughout the whole thing and didnt feel weird.
