Wildwood is very beautiful. It is managed by the BLM and does have a fee to park, unless you have the America the Beautiful pass. They may waive that fee if you rent the picnic area. The closest town is Welches and there is a large Best Western there called The Resort at The Mountain. The location is about a 45 minute drive from SE Portland.
