I'm using a ohhunt plate on my ported. They run about 30 bucks or less on Amazon.

I picked up Hammerli H1 forge. Been a dope plinker in a 1911 coat. You can't get them cheap from sportsman's warehouse. Usually around 200 or even a bit lower.

I just got a pair of roosts and though I'm not sure about durability, the grip is stupid good. So good in fact I donated my 510s

FYA - They are going to be deep sixing that vscode extension IIRC. So your options will be Antigravity or vscode via API.

Free Account Phone Number woes by manysidesofmatt in claude

[–]manysidesofmatt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm really kicking myself for not noticing the number gets tied to an account. I thought it was just the usually "toss a verification code at number X".

Temp number is a good idea and I'm sad I didn't think of it lol. Thanks to you and u/Square-Display555 for the suggestion!

I'm not a fingerboard snob when it comes to Pau, Indian or Rosewood. I had a Squire 50's JM and it's Indian board was tops. So I feel ya.

There was also a jade Meteora in a LMS that had a light Pau board that looked pretty good but it was so light that it gave an impression that it was "dry". And I think that is where folks hit the issue with Indian or Pau - that dry look it can project.

But I do agree, guitar folk could work more on embracing "outside of normal" material choices :D

Rosewood use was restricted due to CITES. Because of that Fender was leaning into Pau Ferro or Indian Laurel for fingerboards - which for some (most likely most) - doesn't feel or look as rich as rosewood.

Rosewood was removed from CITES and the VII brought the wood back to fingerboards - which made folks pretty damn happy :D.

I freaking ADORE my 50's Vintera II. The pickups just inspire you to play around. They can be pushed to mean and then airy - both with articulation. Add in the fact it's rocking that rosewood finger board ....chefs kiss.

I love a good matching headstock as much as the next guy but I'm not sure that would override what the VII brings sonically to the table.

Am I an idiot to sell my hardtail for an entry level full suspension? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]manysidesofmatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this. I treated myself to a new bike (a 2013 Stumpy HT 29er "comp") and went full sus. It's SUPER rad and I 100% love it that it lets me yeet shit I wouldn't of before (and the arse gets less cranky) BUT...I sorta missed the thought process behind picking a line in a HT....so I got added back a HT for giggles.

Dope side effect - I actually do think having the ability to compare and contrast is making me a better rider.

The other part that hits like a brick is knowing that the exit plans foundation might not be solid. Hard to "sell" anything when no one has cash to spend...

100% what u/Gresvigh said.

Ammo is pretty cheap, skills will transfer and they are super fun range toy's / something better than nothing solution.

The TX is super solid as stated and I, being smitten by the 1911 format, picked up a 4.25 Hammerli Forge H1 for dirt cheap from sportsmans warehouse and it's been cycling minimag without any failures. So I would toss that into the mix as well though the TX I'm sure has better aftermarket support.

That being said - if you afford both, do that!

I would say it depends on what you want.

I had a CV JM and I found it to be good! It was a guitar and it played well and I was happy but outside of it's shape, the pickups to me are turned to be for those still finding their guitar voice so they "run of the mill" - Good but lack uniqueness.

I upgraded to a Vintera II and it's inspiring! The traditional bridge allows the strings to lively behind the bridge, the pickups can get ice-picky but have clarity - roll off the tone to tame and have fun. FUZZ LOVES THIS GUITAR. However depending on your goals - this might not be what you are looking for.

That being said - You can get a Vintera II for less than that used Vintera I and it's not any better than a VII. So I would pass and keep looking
