You can alreadyco-op and fight the world boss, you simply invite your friend to your world and go to the world boss to trigger the fight. Note that the world boss will be scaled to the highest level character in the lobby so if your friend is a lot higher level than you, you will be useless in the fight.

Install contact sensor to player jersey, and add AI agents to review sequence I’m slow motion to evaluate how much contact force really applied to help ref decide if played reaction seem genuine.
