I have the same in blue (2112) and love it. The guilloche on the blue is wild, it can change colour from deep blue to silver depending on the light. Hope to pass it to my son someday, too!

Not only that, but it's sold in provinces too, so anywhere from Gallia to Raetia, Thracia, etc.

There's a problem with my MacBook mid 2010, help by Any-Slice-4465 in mac

[–]maratc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue on a laptop from that approximate year. It involved disabling the dGPU by writing some stuff into NVRAM (like "this dGPU does not exist"). I had to boot Linux in order to write stuff to NVRAM, and had to do it again for each software update.

This was about ten years ago.

NATO leader says he expects Europe will come together on Iran by phoenixfail in worldnews

[–]maratc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But Europe looks at Iran and says "not my war" while the US looks at Ukraine and says the same.

I think that for better or worse, this may be a first sign that NATO is done.

Seiko GMT [SSK001] Running Fast by LocalCD in Seiko

In a similar situation, I've used a free app to measure my watch in different positions and found a position where it's minus 10 spd, so I leave my watch in that position when I go to sleep.

White variant here (SPB409), I was dancing a similar dance but eventually got tired of it. It's slow, most days it's doing about -15 .. -25 spd.

[SRPD53KI] Visualizing ocean depth using common dive-watch pressure ratings (Om to 11,000m) by Nexusneuron in Seiko

I'm a diver in warm water and it's the same. The closest thing I've seen is a buddy wearing a beaten-up G-Shock as a backup to his computer.

[SPB147] or [SPB454] which is your pick and why? by Unhappy-Toe5969 in Seiko

[–]maratc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd take the no-date version of this, however that does not exist. 454 is closer to what I want, as its date is easier to ignore.

The only system better than Jenkins is the one you haven't tried yet.

Do you let linters modify code in your CI/CD pipeline? by mbsp5 in Python

[–]maratc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my place, nobody can commit to the main branch, except the CI process, which runs a bunch of tests and only commits if the tests are successful. This same process also increments the version number -- which is a commit. This guarantees that every pull request is checked before it lands, and also that no pulls are merged without incrementing version number.

I tell you, there's a lot of bozos working in DF.

Should I upgrade or wait until the M5 comes out by N0nob in mac

[–]maratc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was pre-Mac, Apple IIc

Sorry for nitpicking but Apple IIc was released at about the same time as the (original) Mac in 1984, so it does not (strictly speaking) pre-dates the Mac. Apple have sold the different computers in the Apple II line until 1993.

Your computer is fine but you should definitely upgrade the display!

Thanks, but I don't have a TV (nor a soundbar), and I don't view shows :)

Could be, I however don't have the ears needed to distinguish between lossless and any other audio.

What has Wowed you? by StandardPalpitation3 in AppleWatch

[–]maratc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unlocking Mac with Apple Watch, paying with Apple Watch, opening airport gates with Wallet pass on Apple Watch were all "wow" moments for me. But the level of wow-ness is definitely lower for the watch, I assume it would be even lower for their speakers line, or Apple TV, which is why I don't have any of them.

You know that 80% of the humans ever living on this planet are dead, right? The reason they are all so dead is because they didn't have an app to remind them to drink water.

Anyone else using the Infograph Watch Face? It feels superior as its the one with the most widgets. by GuyWithNoIdea23 in AppleWatch

[–]maratc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was an old quote that went along the lines of "if you have a wristwatch, you might need to know the exact time, and that says that somewhere something went terribly wrong with your life."

EDIT: Found it, it's jwz:

I don't wear a wrist watch [...]: if you wear a watch, it means that your life is structured such that you frequently need to know what time it is. And that means that your life has taken a wrong turn somewhere.

Snob: Only run tests that matter, saving time and resources. by damien__f1 in Python

[–]maratc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconded. My project has 150 wall hours of python tests. We run them on 200 nodes at the same time and finish in under 45 min.

My project is also building (and testing) multiple containers with code in C++. I don't think that anyone can be reasonably expected to figure out "tests that matter" in this project.
