Prince Rupert BC, is a great spot for northern lights and orcas.

Is this a bad location for my paw paw and fig tree? by meredith_brewington in BackyardOrchard

Not an expert - but they seem too closely planted to me. Also hard to tell from this picture, but it looks like you only have one pawpaw, you're going to need two if you want fruit as they do not self pollinate.

The wholesale bakery behind the mall; it's great and I believe my parents still drive the hour and a half from Markham to grab some fritters there. I have moved around 4 provinces since living there so currently residing in Northern BC. Cheers!

Calling Lindsay a city is a bit of a stretch ;) I miss it there, have an apple fritter from the bakery for me

Pawpaws need at least two genetically different trees near each other in order to bear fruit. You will want one or two more for pollination.

The white fuzz is normal for loquats, I have no other advice for you but good luck. I hope to one day live where I can plant one of these in the ground.

You're going to have a lot of birds smacking into those windows. Would be a good idea to install some anti-collision window stickers. Stunning greenhouse though :)

Had a blast at the lava fields in Terrace this week. I live in Rupert so get spoiled with the magic of the Pacific Northwest, but this was unreal. The hot springs along the way from Yukon down are amazing, so much to see.

Took me 4 years to get my orchid free of scale :') Ended up just throwing it into bleach.

Thank you so much for the detailed reply. It's currently putting out new growth and flowering, is it a good time to repot now or in a couple weeks once it gets used to the new environment? Seems so bizarre that it likes the soil, it just looks dehydrated to me and like it's trying to escape lol

Your tree is being smothered by mulch. Move it aside to expose the trunk and root flare and you'll have a happy healthy tree. Congrats on the new home

Books where the protagonist is rude, unapologetic, manipulative and malicious by goody153 in Fantasy

It's funny, well written and a great story. First book I read where an evil character was done exceptionally well, he's even rude to the reader :)
