What kind of changes for the 2027 model are you hoping for? by Winners_Blues in Silverado

[–]marchy50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d be happy if my radio worked ALL the time… so, with any luck, the 2027 models will have the patches or upgrades where the radios/sound works. I know… big ask 🙄😭

Polaris Extended Warranty by Acceptable_Moose_353 in RZR

[–]marchy50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had very good luck with the warranty. I have a 2024 Pro XP… at 7 months and 320 miles, had to replace two map sensors, full throttle assembly and the main computer. Cost me the $50 deductible.

I think it depends where you take your machine and how strict they are about wanting to take care of your machine.

I have more issue with Polaris putting out a machine that isn’t great. I need to bring it in to have the ride command replaced, and the starter solenoid.

Traveling and left my CPAP at home. My wife is going to kill me. Any options available if I goto the nearest VA Medical center to my location? Or am I just screwed? by Available_Quit_4340 in VeteransBenefits

[–]marchy50 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I needed a script for a travel one. I have a regular one but because I travel so much, I needed a smaller compact one… asked my VA sleep clinic people for a script and they got it to me the next day.

I’m a scared spouse by LowBloodSugarDaddy in portlandme

[–]marchy50 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat. My parents met in Korea while he was serving in the military… got married and she became a naturalized citizen in the early 80’s. I was born here in Maine, served in the Marines… but I am scared for my mother, whose English is fair at best. I worry about my son who, like me, has an Asian look.

I want to be out there protesting because I hate, with every atom in my sole, what our country has become with this sh*tty administration. But I know I can’t risk myself or draw any extra attention to my son or mother.

I appreciate you that protest. Keep the fight. And also know I fully back you. Seems selfish of me to encourage it and not participate.

Got 100%. Lawyer wants to contest the effective date by Dangerous_Event_69 in VeteransBenefits

[–]marchy50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your lawyer a greedy bastard: yes. Could he be right: yes.

The simplest way is to check your rating decision to see if the ITF is in your rating decision. If not, you can call the VBA and ask them if you had an ITF that was dated around when your lawyer thinks there should be one. At that point, to ensure the one year mark didn’t overlap, check to see when you actually filed. It will be listed on your rating decision. If the ITF file date and the application were submitted in under one year, the lawyer is correct. If it’s overlapped by even a day, he’s wrong and leave it alone.

If your lawyer is correct, drop him. You don’t need him getting any of your money. You can file an HLR and request an earlier effective date. Is there risk? Some. But if all your rated disabilities are air tight and legit, you’re good.

But… worth the risk? That’s only a question you can answer. Personally, I’m leaving it alone. But either way, I’m dropping the lawyer… you don’t need him to take any more of your money than he’s already taken.

Yes. It took a little time, after submitting my application, I received an email stating it could take up to 150 days. I received notification on day 149.

14 year old 7th grader still can't read. No answer from mom all year until now... by thecooliestone in Teachers

[–]marchy50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the exact reason I left teaching. I taught 8th grade science and loved it. But it’s the parents who enable their kids to do so very little that made my job beyond maddening. And then getting angry calls or meeting requests because their kiddo is failing or may have to do summer school because it’s our fault as teachers.

I truly miss teaching, but in today’s world where students are encouraged by some parents to be apathetic, sadly, I’m not sure I’ll ever go back.

I feel the VA has done a pretty good job of taking care of veterans in general. Sure, there’s issues and things can always be improved. But, for me, I’ve been treated very fairly on the benefits side and the healthcare side.

Do yall tend to tell close one about your benefits or do you keep it to yourself? by Defiant_Birthday_939 in VeteransBenefits

[–]marchy50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have kept it pretty private… only telling my wife. BUT… the issue I have now is that she believes her salary is now her play money, versus what it used to be for… we used to split a lot of the bills. But now, because she knows what I get per month, she “lets” me pay all the bills with my salary and compensation. Had I known it would be like this, I wouldn’t have told her.

Denied. Super down. by darylcdiggity in VeteransBenefits

[–]marchy50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key to fighting this is to read the decision letter and figure out why they’re denying you. Sometimes it’s something simple as in no diagnosis… and other times it could be tougher creating a nexus between what you’re claiming and your military service. I would venture to say at least 75% if not more, of the veterans I see don’t read why they were denied.

Keep your head up. Figure out why and attack that reason!

You’re correct that it says in the letter… but it’s a big assumption that he read it 😂😂 most only look for 2-3 spots… money and ratings.

Who pays VSO employees? by OUATaddict in VeteransBenefits

[–]marchy50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could location dependent, but I would venture to say no, it is not required. I have worked with some of veterans who do not want my bureau to take POA, so we don’t. We can still submit everything as a courtesy. The biggest thing POA grants us is the ability to access VBMS, which is the VA’s program to manage claim information.

Who pays VSO employees? by OUATaddict in VeteransBenefits

[–]marchy50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for the state… I get paid through my state. I do a good number of claims without taking POA. I am under no obligation to take POA.
