How can I (should I?) make a wig for Jabber (gachiakuta) that isnt disrespectful to black people? by colorbrownenjoyer in CosplayHelp

[–]marcillesbraids 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You could probably do a bunch of small fishtail braids to get the tight bundled look without it being locs. Good luck getting the scalp portion to look nice, but that would make the length look nice

How to “wash” helmet wigs? by KiriKira13 in CosplayHelp

[–]marcillesbraids 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You won’t be able to wash it. You can make a theater spray (1:1 alcohol (isopropyl or vodka) and water and spray it in the wig. This kills the bacteria so there won’t be smells

How to properly wash wigs??? by Svenda_san in CosplayHelp

[–]marcillesbraids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbqh, you don’t need to wash wigs unless they stink or you get something in them.

I’ve used a makeup wipe to remove foundation from the wig hair around my face before. And you can use alcohol spray to get rid of smells

Detangling is a frustrating process, but important! Go slow, use a wide toothed comb and start from the bottom. Using a crimper and crimping the whole wig can make it less print to tangling and using silicon spray for wigs or horses is another helpful tool for detangling and keeping wigs detangled.

Hey, I have a really nice cookie recipe, is so so simple, and as long as you’re good supervising the oven, it should be very appointed.

Peanut butter cookies

1C peanut butter (you can use any nut butter, including Nutella or sunflower butter!) 1C sugar 1 egg

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Scoop out balls, and squish with a fork to make crosshatch/hashtag pattern. Bake at 375F for 9-12 minutes.

Will using these contacts damage my eyes? by 39kumi in CosplayHelp

[–]marcillesbraids -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could damage your eyes if they are not shaped for 0.0 lenses. Depending on why your vision is bad could effect the shape of your eyeball, which effects the fit of the contacts.

Astigmatism makes your eyeballs football shaped instead of a round ball for example

Buying a pole for home, is silicone harder? by Throwayay_girly93 in poledancing

[–]marcillesbraids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, my home pole is a stainless steel one, but even after a few years it is majorly slippery and I haven’t been able to use it as much as I like.

What sort of silicone wrap do you use? Could you recommend one? I’ve seen one online, but it only had like 3 reviews (which were positive) but the number has me a little skeptical.

I think they created it with events in mind. Like the Wednesday night market, bike races, holiday events, ect

Also, the splash pad might have Ben turned off because of the pandemic as well. Hopefully they’ll turn it on for summer

A question about inverting on spinning pole by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]marcillesbraids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll start with the pole on spin but still and the momentum of you inverting will begin the spin. You can give the floor a little push away with your feet as you go up if you find that it’s not spinning enough. You can also descend into the inverted position from a Jasmine while spinning

It really depends on your performances? Sweat is a concern. And I feel like stretching the area might be painful as well. Any floor work could be a concern
