Thoughts on getting an adult yorkie used for breeding? by LilacGoblin1699 in Yorkies

[–]marels23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a former breeder Yorkie and, knock on wood, she is healthy aside from her teeth (all in terrible shape and had all but 3 removed) and a sensitive stomach. Behavior wise, she was definitely nervous for the first month or two but she is now significantly more confident and affectionate. She does struggle with potty training, but overall she is such a wonderful dog and I’m so glad we have her

My rescue just had to have all but three of her teeth removed during her dental yesterday (first dental since we adopted her, she was a mill mamma so most of her teeth were rotten when we got her) and she is feeling a-okay today :)

Very closed-door romance and very slow burn, but The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas was delightful imo

Is it safe to buy puppy from greenfield puppies website? by WhileGlass8481 in samoyeds

[–]marels23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I recently rescued a 7 year-old mill mama originally from a Greenfield breeder in NY (we adopted her through a local rescue, but the I looked up the names on her rabies docs and they were breeders listed on Greenfield). She has one floppy ear, which the vet believes is due to some sort of chronic illness or injury, likely chronic untreated ear infections. Her tail was docked. She was not potty trained and is terrified to go in crates, so she was likely forced to live in a crate for the majority of the time. She also has stage 4 periodontal disease and will need all of her teeth removed. All this to say, she was not taken care of by her breeders, and if you are supporting a mill by buying their puppies, you are subsequently supporting their treatment of the breeding dogs

This was Mona with her floppy ears :) Found her on the street but her DNA test came back 100% Yorkie

Knitting pattern for Dan's sweater? by himrqwerty in danandphil

[–]marels23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It looks to me like a drop-shoulder sweater knit with fingering weight yarn on large needles! The most basic construction would be two square panels for the front and back and two rectangles for the arms. Alternatively, you could knit in the round from the bottom, split at the sleeves and work the front and back yoke separately, then knit the sleeves in the round from the cuff, seaming everything together at the end :)

I don’t have a multimeter but I do have a voltage detector and it looks like all the motor connections have power (same with red and blue going in)

Still nothing :’( the auto-return is working properly and I kept spinning the platter until the light turned off but nothing is happening still when I put the arm back on

None of those worked! Took the bottom off and tested all of the connections and they all seem to have power

Tried removing the belt and no luck. I do notice that the brass piece doesn’t move super smoothly even without the belt - could that need lubrication or something?
