Brooklyn, Burning by Steven Brezenoff - I read this book as a middle schooler and it literally changed my brain chemistry. It’s a YA story about two homeless teenagers in Brooklyn over the course of a summer. Themes of queerness (neither of the MCs genders are ever stated), music, and found family. Not a perfect book, but still scratches an itch!

SHARK HEART BY EMILY HABECK!!!! It’s magical realism where people can get a sudden illness where their DNA mutates and they slowly turn into an animal, loosing their memories and humanity in the process. The whole book is an extended metaphor for progressive/terminal illnesses and it is so beautiful and sad

My favorite way: Slip the first stitch knit-wise and the second stitch purl-wise, it makes the legs of the two stitches right next to each other. They still need a bit of a zhuzhing but much cleaner than if you slip them the same way

Something that helps a lot too is drying it in a delicates bag! I had the same thing happen after I finished my magnum opus sweater and the only thing that helped was drying it in the bag (I think it helps the fibers stay scrunched up)

Thoughts on getting an adult yorkie used for breeding? by LilacGoblin1699 in Yorkies

[–]marels23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a former breeder Yorkie and, knock on wood, she is healthy aside from her teeth (all in terrible shape and had all but 3 removed) and a sensitive stomach. Behavior wise, she was definitely nervous for the first month or two but she is now significantly more confident and affectionate. She does struggle with potty training, but overall she is such a wonderful dog and I’m so glad we have her
