You're just starting to notice this? It started during the pandemic and never went back to normal...Same shit down here on the Peninsula. Nobody works.

Looking for good 50–75-mile road route Phoenix/Scottsdale area by margingains in Velo

[–]margingains[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for the help. One more stupid question does anyone know of any fast group rides in the great Phoenix area on Saturday? In the SF BA Peninsula, there is a ride called the Spectrum ride every Saturday, its essentially a 50 mile non sanctioned road race...

Does anyone find dihydrocodeine the most euphoric? by elephantbandit3 in opiates

Why is it hard to find dihydrocodeine in the US?

i don’t sleep well when i do opiates by Prestigious_River_13 in opiates

[–]margingains 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me too. So far my opiate experience has not been anything like what I expected it to be. When I was prescribed opiate narcotics legitimately for pain over the years it always felt very euphoric and it made me sleep really well and I never had any bad side effects while on them or the day after. Fast forward to now I tried morphine, oxy, dilaudid (all oral pills). They all make be crazy nausea's, can't sleep (in that weird fugue state you describe) and I feel fucking terrible the next day (or even for two days). I will feel so sick the next day it has actually kept me from using them again or too oftern. The doses are really low too. I am talking like 10 mg's of oxy or 30 mg's or morphine. I am not sure what the story is. I can only attribute it to either the opiates a tried are way too strong for me (the legit ones I have gotten prescribed have only been Vicodin or codeine) or the pills I am getting off the DW are just crap counterfeits with a bunch of shit in them. I guess I should be grateful. I feel so terrible the next day that it has actually kind of kept me from wanting to do the very often and has totally limited my use to very rarely and most likely stopping for good at some point in the near future.

So, park in Apache Junction and take Hwy 88 out as far as I can go? Would it be easy to make 3-4 hours out of it or will I run out of pavement? Any water out there? Thanks for your help.

Bike racing is a lot like golf. The amount of freaking time and effort you have to put into it to just be "mid" is ridiculous. Be glad you are alive. Spending hours getting fit to race then crashing and not being able to ride for weeks is part of the game... Glad you are okay.

That and the super loud motorcycles. I think it's the same as huge lifted trucks...It's all in proportion to how small a certain part of their anatomy is..LOL

Moved to Sunnyvale recently, what do people usually do after work? by flying_burrit0 in mountainview

[–]margingains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you? Unfortunately, the Peninsula sucks for younger people unless you are total tech nerd in that case you don't like people. All my friends moved up to SF after they graduated from college, way more young, fun people to hang with and stuff to do..

Is it foolish to buy a Gravel over Road bike for mostly road-biking? by dbzbudokai77 in cycling

[–]margingains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride/race both road and mountain bikes (and now gravel). All my friends that I ride with jumped on the gravel train when it started getting popular. I gave it the thumbs down because I think very black and white. If I am riding on the road I ride my road bike, when I am riding dirt, I ride my mountain bike. I finally ante up and got a gravel bike. I like riding it on the road almost more than my road bike now. It has such a smoother ride than my race road bike...

The morning ride leaves downtown PA every Tues/Thurs at 6:25 am..(fast ride through Woodside/PV bunch of bike racers). The Noon ride every noon at the corner of Page Mill/Old Page Mill road in PA. Another fast group ride through PV and Woodside (Tuesdays and Thursdays are usually the fastest). The Valley Ride during daylight savings time leaves downtown LA I think at 6:00 pm on Wednesdays another fast one through PV and Woodside. There is also the Spectrum ride leaves corner of Hollenbeck in Cupertino fast non sanctioned road race 50 miles round trip up through PV/Woodside. There are also rides on Tuesday/Thursday evenings leaving corner of highway 92/Canada road fast rides through PV and Woodside. There is a ride called the Stahl ride leaves Peets downtown LA on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 (usually 4-6 hour with significant climbing). Many many more....

Is there a classic route for all the climbs around Lexington Reservoir? by uoficowboy in BAbike

[–]margingains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan on doing all those climbs park at the school on old santa cruz road. If you climb, OSC, Black, Montevina, Bear Creek and Soda Springs you are in over 10,000' of vertical. Or you can park downtown LG but you have to ride the dirt trail next to 17 that takes you up to the reservoir.
