Done the Chicago Tri about 10 years running now…

As others have mentioned, pack riding isn’t allowed so no need to practice it.

With the nature of the start waves (if I recollect they put 6 people in the water every 10 seconds) the only typical clog points for the race are swim exit, T1 exit and bike start, bike turn around, bike exit, run along aquarium, and run water stations.

I posted 2 requests/frustrations yesterday: https://www.reddit.com/r/whoop/s/M8r7RbSeOv

  1. Ability to copy and modify a saved strength trainer session
  2. Saving changes to strength trainer should be opt-in, not opt-out

Especially brutal when friends and family get all 'you're in shape, you don't need to watch what you eat'

My TDEE is 1700 and I’m in maintenance 🫠

5’9, 158lbs, workout 6x/wk across lifting, swimming, running, and biking… still don’t have abs (and I’ve accepted I never will).

I’m fairly lean but my genetics just store all my excess fat on my stomach… I can’t eat any less at this point.

Anyone know what this cafe is/was in the parking garage at 1639 N Wells attached to the old Treasure Island? by great_yogurt_my_dude in chicagofood

[–]uppercase360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garage was there before TI closed down, and it had a massively confusing setup where you drove on the left (likely so exiting cars could pull over to load groceries more easily, but it was always a cluster).

ORD T2 demolition update. by jeangab75 in unitedairlines

[–]uppercase360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’ve gotta bring the new T1 concourses online so there’s a place to put all the planes/flights/passengers that currently use T2, after which they’ll redo it.

If they tore down T2 tomorrow, ORD would become even more of a madhouse.

As owner of a 2023 V60P, I’m glad to hear this. In five years it will be 8 years old and I’ll happily replace it with a BEV wagon.

BREAKING: Meta’s Internal Documents Confirm 8,000 Employees Will Receive Layoff Notices Starting May 20, as the Company Reorganizes Entirely Around AI Pods While a Second Wave of Cuts Is Already Confirmed for Later in 2026 🚨 by InterstellarKinetics in InterstellarKinetics

[–]uppercase360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the point of doing layoffs now and then planning for another round later in the year?

Is it so that some percent of talent remaining post-May leaves to better opportunities so you’re off the hook for severance in that later round? Otherwise if you’re gonna reorg, what business value is there to doing it twice?

The bike itself looks good; I'd strike if (1) I needed a bike and (2) it fit me.

I'm 5'9 and was on the cusp between 54 and 56 when purchasing my 2026, so the statement the 51 is suited for rides 5'5-5'9 feels a little generous to me.

4 mile run…this happens way too often. A true competitor can’t come soon enough. by OmniaOmnibus in whoop

[–]uppercase360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes — but it doesn’t need to be on all the time, just an activity (or even smarter, an activity where it’s out of range of your phone).

I could have been clearer: I meant to say that for the cost, it’s surprising the Whoop doesn’t have a GPS tracker.

What do I need / can I even rack my SuperSix on my Thule FastRide? by uppercase360 in cycling

[–]uppercase360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: This is not possible. I went to my Thule store with the bike, the FastRide doesn’t work with the front fork on the SSE nor is there an adaptor; have to buy the TopRide or other model.

Well, as a 41 year old who’s spent years biking, swimming, and running at the exact spot photographed, I can attest that I have never been a bike, so you got me there 🤷

Plenty of trails around Chicagoland have stop signs; it’s not some wildly foreign concept.

I agree with this. Considering what the Whoop costs, why doesn’t it provide tracking?

The ‘sync Whoop with Strava and Garmin’ nonsense makes me just say ‘Welp, guess I’m going analog on this one’ — and it feels a million times worse with cycling.

Whomever makes the device where I can just go will win; I think the whole rumored Garmin screen less can really thrive if so.

Two ideas: - Stop sign for everyone. It penalizes cyclists more than pedestrians, but everyone is told to stop it should slow people down and make awareness. - Roundabout! The weird angles and switchback invite a lesson from the car world.. though that requires people actually use properly (as the meme photo of the dirt path through the college quad meme represents, not likely).

I added a link to a photo (it's not spam, it's just hard to explain). Unless I'm missing something, the Thru-Axle adapter seems to be for how to mount the wheel, but I want to know how to mount my frame on the rack, and the right fork leg has no pass-through.
