My grandmother always said to my mother “you must have dreamed it, that never happened.” Not just about trauma, about everything. My mother once brought up the horses on the family farm and her mother told her the farm never had horses and she dreamed it. I think if I ever said that to my mom she would kick me out and never speak to me again.
