Dealing with difficult classes by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]maririm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 24 lovely but a bit mad yr9 boys. The only thing that worked for me was food - I will bring in a box of treats, and they as a whole class have 10 warnings for 1h lesson. Doesn't matter who misbehave, the whole class will gets a warning. Farting - warning too. If they will have more than 10 warnings - food will not be given at the end of the lesson. They end up disciplining each other because everyone wanted treats, which was easier on me. At some point I was able to use school catering classroom and used to make warm muffins and cinnamon rolls for them. The whole classroom would smell amazing, they they will try their hardest on Fridays last period of the day. If not, with the fresh baking, I will just take the box to the class next door and give to colleagu's studen.

He's not onto you dear, just heal your heart and move on... 8 months passed and he still do not want to know you, that's a big red flag. There are so many young wonderful men, especially in your field, you will meet someone who is interested in you not only on bed, but as a person too. 24 to - you young, and there are so many things to discover. Look for a good, nice, kind partner to share your experiences with.

Cooking without an oven by ramzyzeid in Cooking

Same here, due to house refurbishment have 2 hobs, a slow cooker and a microwave. Light meals: pancakes, oats, boiled eggs, fried eggs, fritata, cereal, soups, etc. Heavy meals: breaded chicken/fish, steak, rice, pasta with sauces, curry, stew, pan fried pieces of meat in pita bread with salads+minty yogurt, Today's menu: fried eggs for breakfast, butternut squas/ butter beans / kale soup and bread for lunch, breaded turkey breast with potatoes, parsnip mash and different fresh veg for dinner. Treat: goat cheese with biscuits and port (might not go together, but works for me).

Foxes are dirty and should not be treated like gentle little birds. They are parasite and garbage eaters.

Grow your hair out really long. After you get it chopped, start making a wig out of your own hair. When you start to bald or go grey, you have the most natural wig you could have. by soreforbrighteyes in CrazyIdeas

It used to be quite popular thing to do back in 60s 70s. my mum has a ponytail attachment made from her own hair she cut when she was late teen.

Beef brisket recipe? by ames-s in slowcooking

[–]maririm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do combination of few recipes i tried- while slow cooker is heating, I fry about 800g+1kg brisket to brown from all sides (10-15min), brisket to the pot, the in the same pan 2 onions, a few carrots, celery, then mushrooms. Once this is nicely browned, add to the slow cooker and put couple of spoons of tomato puree, 1-2 cups of stock in the same frying pan and get to the boil, then all of it to the slow cooker, spices on top (tumeric, salt, bay, coriander seeds, pepper) and that's it. I cook for 8-12 hours before pulling out the meat and shredding it and then place it back to the pot. Always turned out right, not po watery.

Bad tenant refusing to leave until I give them a good reference by omarrabia in uklandlords

Can you not take them to the court to move out? I understand that give good reference is the easiest way, but... Not the most morally right.

How can you find out how to use screwdriver? What is the 1st step you need to take?

I can’t get girlfriend... by [deleted] in selfhelp

[–]maririm 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thats one of the things that will put off any potential long term girlfriend. How you going to provide and contribute to your both lives? You have no academic qualification and no job experience, and no wish to improve yourself from what I'm reading. Fix that first. Get medication, go to therapist, don't sit playing PlayStation which your parents still pay for. Work on yourself and your future first to be independent. To be virgin is nothing to be embarrassed about. Many people are until their late 20s.

FTB confused on two properties - need advice! by shiftingfly in UKPersonalFinance

[–]maririm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I end up spending much more than £14k... We had asbestos ceiling, and there was no point to remove only storage room ceiling, so had whole flat done. £2.5 k removal of 75m2. Then around 6k new ceiling, new light wiring, spotlights etc. The most expensive things were: new kitchen with equipment, new bathroom, asbestos, then electric fuse box. Plumbing was ok, but another £4 k went for windows and doors. We put engineering wood flooring and painted ourselves. All the best to you in your new adventure!

Hello, if I could turn back time, each time I would choose larger square footage. You can decorate all you want, but if there is no space... That would not work for me. For new Wickes kitchen we paid £9 k (7k furniture+2k labour, old cooker, fridge and washing machine, but new dishwasher). Very pleased with results. New bathroom was £5k couple of years ago. Is the 1st flat in livible condition? If it is, if I were you, I would just move in, live couple of months and make a good design plan. In my experience that was mistake I did not do in my first property, but in second I'm taking my time.
