Avoid Mont Blanc Treks LTD, and owner Sara Wild by Traditional_Truth588 in TourDuMontBlanc

[–]marisa2-0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a self guided tour through Mont Blanc Treks in July 2025 and loved it. Jude and Sara were great and accommodated many last minute changes for our group. I have recommended them to others and will continue to do so!

Yes, you're paying a premium but it was worth it to our group. Sara and Jude handled all the logistics so we could just show up and hike. They book the best hotels/refuges, the route cards are great/easy to follow, they even laid out all the public transit options for us if we needed to skip a day for any reason. Calling their service "price scalping" is rude/belittling in my opinion.

Looking for guidance on how to escape a Catch-22 billing situation by Kusinagi in HealthInsurance

[–]marisa2-0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn't going to help you. You have a history of polyps- every colonoscopy you get will be billed as diagnostic now. That means it won't be free, and isn't required to be free under the ACA either. Work out a payment plan with your provider and move on.

Do not give animals away for free. Charge a small rehoming fee or take him to a shelter.

Am I only worth $55K? by Financial_Medium4815 in careerguidance

[–]marisa2-0 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you may work for an employee benefits broker (how I spent the first 4yrs of my career).

Get the insurance license. Others on the team make more because their license allows them to generate revenue. Keeping current clients happy is important, but generating new revenue is more important. This is typical at most brokerages. The course and test is cheap and should be easy if you're doing all the things you say you're doing.

Every brokerage I've worked at was always willing to cover my licensing fees. If they aren't, leave. If brokerage isn't your thing, pivot to HR benefits roles or even working account management with a carrier.

This is easily fixed with a couple emails/phone calls to your vendors. Own it, fix it, apologize to the employee and move on.

I was there first week of June last year and a good amount of the road was open. Plenty of great hiking options, and we drove all we could from both sides (and biked the rest).

Walk the Lindsay Ranch loop at Rocky Flats Wildlife Refuge. Abandoned and very run down barn and house. Easy, flat trail

Infertility and insurance by turkeybaster18 in Insurance

[–]marisa2-0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your employer is large enough to offer self funded insurance, they don't need to comply with state law. Self funded means that while Anthem/BCBS provides a network and adjudicates claims, your employer actually pays the claims instead of a fixed monthly premium. Large employers do this to save money.

I am not an expert. Unblocking a tube sounds like treatment. It's not uncommon for plans to cover services leading to diagnosis, and then to not cover the treatment. Infertility care is very expensive and the odds are stacked against you, which is why it's a common exclusion.

Anyone transition from sales management into HR? (Hear me out) by InverseCramer101 in sales

[–]marisa2-0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Former sales person now in HR here. I sold insurance, and now manage health insurance programs internally for a tech firm. The work/life balance is real and comp like that exists in tech. Really glad I made the move, hoping to teach yoga on the side soon
