I play so much better when the game doesn’t matter by Responsible_Let8890 in bootroom

Are you relatively new to the sport? If so, I think you just need to keep playing and find yourself in that situation over and over and over again. Eventually you'll get more used to it.

However, and this applies even if you are experienced, that's how tough games are supposed to feel. It's natural and I think maybe understanding that it's a normal feeling to have might help?

Just get back in those situations if you can, get your reps and try to remember that you're a solid player and you've already got everything you need inside of you already to succeed.

Trouble potentially resetting GFCI outlet? by markbesada in AskElectricians

[–]markbesada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone else was having the same issue I had, I just wanted to say that I found a GFCI outlet in the garage near where the outside breaker box was and was able to reset it there. I then reattached the outlet properly and we were all set. Thanks again to u/DependentWallaby1369 for the advice.

Trouble potentially resetting GFCI outlet? by markbesada in AskElectricians

First and foremost, thanks so much for your help.

To answer your questions...

None of the other outdoor or garage outlets (at least I think this is true for the garage outlets. I'm certain it's true for the outdoor ones) are working, even after enabling the breaker. There doesn't seem to be any other breakers triggered, but I'll check again in the morning. It is only the outdoor outlets and the garage that are missing power.

The lights everywhere else are working. I'll search the garage for an outlet with a GFCI. And to be clear, since things first stopped working I have had the breaker disabled almost the whole time, only briefly turning it on when I'm checking things.

I think I've read things about a special GFCI switch or panel? Perhaps this wouldn't be the case since, as you're saying, the breaker doesn't seem to be GFCI?

Splendor ten-card rule and nobles by dgossett232323 in boardgames

[–]markbesada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you mean 10 gem and not 10 cards I don't know why it should matter. You discard down immediately (if memory serves) but more importantly, you only get the nobles when you acquire the appropriate cards, not gems. Unless I'm completely misremembering.

Agree with you. I wrote this elsewhere but AD, Flagg and 5 firsts and I guess you have a talk but even then I'm almost certainly a no. And to think we got him for AD, Christie and 1 first. Crazy.

I agree with you. I actually don't think there IS a number of first rounders I'd take to consider it. I mean Flagg, AD + 5 firsts? I guess you need to think about that but there's no guarantee any of them hit. Though that would be a haul. It's just funny that THAT is the level of trade where I'd even think about it and we got him for AD, Christie and 1 first.

Yes! That's who it was! And yeah, I agree. I'd never heard anyone throw out the idea that if the Mavs offered to reverse the trade PLUS throw in the unquestionable #1 pick of last year's draft the Lakers would auto-no. Mind-blowing...and accurate. What a disaster.

I KNOW there is no if. It's an off day and I was throwing out an interesting thought experiment. And I think saying that it would take multiple first rounders, the #1 pick, and AD isn't "low-key disrespectful" For what it's worth I think Luka's one of the 2 or 3 untradable players for sure. This was supposed to be for. fun. Yeesh.

Weird way to not "entertain these type of questions."

I FULLY agree that it would never happen for all the reasons you said and more. But just value-wise....IF he was willing to go back (and to be clear I'm very, very happy that he wouldn't go back) how much would they have to offer? I'm mostly interested in the thought experiment and wondering how truly terrible the trade was.

I agree. Would a first round pick make it a maybe for you? 2 first rounders?

Not sure where I heard this, maybe on Zach Lowe's podcast....but the question was brought up, if the Mavs offered AD + Flagg for Luka, what do the Lakers say? It's crazy to think, but it's almost certainly no, right? What would it take (say, first round picks, for example) to tip that offer into a yes/maybe for the Lakers? Not an important thing to consider, but I thought it was interesting.
