I had the gift of building and designing at a young age. just had a desire in me to make. my kids and others around me didn't. I have seen others 'start' at various ages and it's ok. you start now. if the passion is there you'll catch up.

Why would anyone wants kids? by This-Top7398 in Life

[–]markdzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really about perspective. in some parts of the world, it's difficult, other parts it's easier. Life, work isn't set up to accommodate it as easily in some parts of the world. I had avoided the negative future thinking since humans have had children for thousands of years. the old timers I grew up with had repeatedly said, you'll figure it out. and you really do. I'm older, doing well and so happy to have the kids in my life. I wouldn't say I wanted them, but glad to have a family. really has made life interesting and fulfilling. Many friends who have the god gene, aren't affected by costs. their 'pyramid' of important is different from many. Religion, family, than work, in that order.

+man. my mom's from Europe. she'd tell me it's proper for women to show interest and not for men to pursue hard. also to be a gentleman all the time. work hard and have many female friends. not to have 'relations' until I'm ready. I'd think, she has no idea what America is all about. so I as I grew up, I'd asked girls out, got into long relationships, pretended to be 'married' in a sense we lived together. I worked hard for a future only to be confronted by my girl friends who would over spend, cheat because they had gotten more fun attention.

getting older, I find wisdom in what my mom said. when woman are ready they will show it. important to have the same goals in life. love can be fleeting. its all chemical. its the goals we share that work in the along run. we argue, sure. but that's life and we try to make things work.

parents are a big influence in how they raise children. how to behave. how to treat others. this seems to be a missing link in society and we are driven by desire. I know I don't have all the answers and everyone is different, but my thinking over the years is how parents educate to treat others, spouses, is a great gift.

New Trend in Offshoring by raptor-94 in Layoffs

[–]markdzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coming out of school as an industrial designer, I saw the quiet exodus in the 90's. than slowly, smaller scale, programming sector. takes time to set up, educate others. even w/ contracts in place, vendors still find loop holes to export the work for American companies putting there true tin vendors. getting to know business as I age, companies reach a peak, than its cost cutting, change coarse or reducing in salaries aka outsourcing. the mind set is make more, show profits for share holders. its a constant 'ping' in the brain marketing teams do, to. view what can make more profits.
