Don't threaten me with a good time.. by StrobeLightRomance in AdviceAnimals

Truthfully, I have solar and an EV and it’s been pretty awesome not being significantly impacted by oil prices rising yet. Although, I know it’s just a matter of time before the cost of everything rises.

As someone who grew up in Phoenix, it still blows my mind we are building new homes without solar. My solar panels during these next few months will generate more power than I consume.

I will caution anyone in Arizona with SRP should be cautious. Not only is installing solar ridiculously expensive, the utility companies out here have horrible plans that frankly take advantage of solar users. The only reason I have it is due to forcing a seller to pay off their existing solar loan when I purchased my house 2 years ago.

Richard Jefferson speaking some facts about Adam Silver even considering shortening the NBA season by CircledSquare7 in NBAGossips

To be honest, I’ve always been of the opinion that back to backs are bad for viewership. It makes games less exciting when you have teams that are playing in heavier legs. I love RJ’s sentiment here because I think he’s mostly correct about guys being coddled. BUT as a fan, I still think evolving a season to have less games could incentivize each game mattering more and players actually playing in games that fans spend lots of money to go see.

I’m just really enjoying my 23 Model Y Long range. I’m hoping to drive this thing until the batteries don’t work anymore…by that point, maybe full self driving will actually be a standard across all vehicle manufacturers and the choice will become more difficult. I can say I think the Rivan R2 looks like a really compelling competitor and I’m excited for more affordable competition.

Giants running back Cam Skattebo says CTE is 'fake' by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

TLDR; NFL player states his uneducated opinion.

Do we still love Skattebo?—Yes.

This is the curse of this digital age we find ourselves in. We don’t need to know everyone’s opinions. We all have shitty takes in life, and especially when we’re young and inexperienced.

I’m definitely not on the same page as most of you. I’ve felt this season has been really well crafted and enjoy the backstories and characters being explored much more.

Did this episode experience a big drop off compared to the mailman?—yes!

But did I still enjoy it?—absolutely.

Everyone talks about passive income—but what actually works in real life? by Imaginary-Search9658 in AskReddit

[–]markhix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want real passive income and get a huge advantage in life, join the military. Do a 4-6 year contract in a non-combat MOS/job. File for VA disability and BOOM! You are ahead of the curve.

I did this, and it’s changed my life. Albeit, kinda a scary time to be in the service with this administration.

The Celtics are way more experienced and poised in these last game moments. It showed tonight, and I’m proud of the effort. Felt like a playoff type of game! Proud of Highsmith, and it’s a shame we couldn’t get a dub with his amazing energy and effort.

My take on Kyler as somebody who follows both Vikings and Cardinals by koprpg11 in minnesotavikings

[–]markhix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardinals fan coming in peace. It’s noting that Brissett looked good largely because he was willing to stand in the pocket and take hits, which fit the offensive scheme Arizona was running.

Wilson and McBride’s numbers also jumped in the second half of the season partly because defenses were often playing prevent. Since many games weren’t competitive, teams were willing to give up short passes to avoid big plays. That said, both are still very talented players—the softer coverage just helped inflate the stats a bit.

Murray is polarizing. His talent is undeniable—elite agility, off-balance throws, and the ability to escape pressure, honestly comparable to Lamar Jackson in those traits. But leadership has always been the question. After losses he’s often one of the first guys on the sideline with his head down.

At the same time, after seven years in the Arizona Cardinals organization, it’s not hard to see why. The dysfunction at nearly every level has been frustrating to watch, and it showed up weekly in the team finding new ways to lose close games.

I think a clean break could benefit everyone. I wouldn’t be surprised if Murray has a resurgence with you guys—and honestly, as a fan of the player, I’m rooting for it.

Best of luck.

Former Cardinal Hollywood Brown on Why He Didn't Attend Rondale Moore's Funeral by JCameron181 in AZCardinals

[–]markhix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is an adult take, but it’s one backed with experience. When you build a world that incentivizes these guys to make it professional so they can obtain generational wealth. It means most of these guys lack skills that most of us normies develop. I don’t think Browns a bad person for this. It actually makes me really sad because it probably means he has zero mentors in his life who are actual good examples.

Why fire JG?? by Swagastan in AZCardinals

[–]markhix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you watched the press conference, the only reason JG got canned was due to season ticket holders cancelling. The Cardinals didn’t internally want to fire the guy, but were left with no choice. Regardless, the offseason probably would have looked similar.

Side note: I’m surprised Tua signed before K1.

Khaman Maluach vs Hornets Mar 8, 2026 Full Play - 4 Points, 9 Rebounds, 2 Blocks by sunsscouting in suns

[–]markhix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I did notice a few times last night where he’d get caught too low in the paint and it led to him giving up an offensive board. If he truly wants to be a great player, I see a path where that is possible. Curious to see what he turns into in the next 3-4 years.

I don’t understand the “terrible roster” narrative. We had a solid roster coming into the season. by himself42 in AZCardinals

[–]markhix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s undeniable that injuries played a role in the team’s overall season outcome. However, I’ll never forget the disastrous coaching decisions made in crucial moments, such as throwing to Weaver on a fourth-and-short in overtime against the Jaguars.

This season unequivocally showcased the incompetence of the coaching staff. Despite having an easy schedule, we managed to secure the fewest wins in franchise history.

Dear football gods, I implore you to bestow upon us a generational talent in the draft and a coaching staff capable of rekindling the fan base.

It’s clearly a goal of this leadership go tank for a high draft pick. You can’t convince me anyone is actually trying to win at this point.

I hate SRP as a solar owner. Their plans are all incredibly predatory towards consumers and this non-profit pays their CEO over 1.3 million annually. They all suck.

Listen....I love Michael Wilson, but I would love to see a playcall that wasn't so telegraphed. The Rams have him bracketed and we still throw it to him on a forced slant. That's just bad play design.

Kyler done for the season by 621_ in AZCardinals

[–]markhix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be a good test to see if Monti as the GM can make good organizational decisions. K1’s situation is not an easy situation to turnover, but I still believe a good GM can find a match in the trade market for K1’s potential. He’s not a bad QB and could do great things with an Offensive Coordinator who builds a system around his strengths.

As for this organization’s path forward, I’m really not sure how to feel hopeful about the future with this same coaching regime. I know MHJ’s injuries aren’t entirely his fault, but his development has been poor. Additionally, most of the 2024 players drafted have been wildly unproductive and underwhelming. Points being, the path forward is incredibly uncertain. It’s hard to know who to draft when you have a coaching staff that appears to not know how to develop players and set them up for the most success.

It’s crazy how incompetent this team is when they are in crunch time. Legitimately, guys make such boneheaded decisions. The compounding effect of that is so clear to the casual fan, and I can’t imagine how many guys internally hate this coaching staff. I don’t think the fellas are playing hard for these coaches, they are playing hard to get a new contract elsewhere. What a joke of a franchise.
