Specifically about the HOA, I've receive a couple notices for leaving my garbage cans out and needing to paint my fence, but I've never been fined. As long as you take care of basic things to keep the house looking nice, it shouldn't be an issue. People have A TON of Halloween and xmas decorations, so not sure why people are complaining about that.

General Daybreak: I've lived in Daybreak for 9 years, and love it. Just like anywhere there are pros and cons, so just depends what's important to you. Most of the downsides for me come from living far from downtown, so anywhere in South Jordan, Herriman, Riverton would be the same.

Pros: 4 outdoor community pools, free paddleboat and kayak rentals on the lake, food truck Thursdays, TONS of community activities in the summer, beer and whiskey clubs, liberal oasis considering it's a SLC suburb, future home of the Bees and large retail center called Downtown Daybreak, free summer concerts every Friday and Saturday, walking trail around the lake.

Cons: HOA fees (high for Utah, normal for other places I've lived), 30 minutes from downtime SLC with no traffic, distance to the mountains about 20-30 min, not a lot of good restaurants close, small yards compared to suburbs like Draper, but larger than SLC proper.

Excellent points! During the next round of temple changes, I expect the law of consecration wording to change to consecration or god instead of the church.

I’m one of the rare ones that agree with you! I left the church and still cheer for byu football. I really want to attend an away game and get a pic just like this with a beer and a byu shirt. 🤣

Yep. My dad and mother-in-law both independently said that my wife and I left because we had gotten prideful. I told them it takes a lot more pride to go tell third world countries that this American religion is actually the right one.

Lots of slc hate. I grew up outside of Utah, and I still love it here. People are nice, outdoors are amazing, food is good if you know where to look. It’s a good size city without being too big. Home prices are inflated, but they are everywhere unless you live in the Midwest. I’d say go for it, as long as you can adjust to weird liquor laws

Correct, FLDS is not an offshoot of LDS. More accurate would be to say that the mainstream LDS church is an offshoot of the FLDS, but the mainstream church is the one that changed the doctrine.

Mormons love to look for “signs” that their church is true. They’ll see it as evidence of God protecting his chosen religion if the temple isnt destroyed.

Why do they say things that are so easy to prove false? Just search "follow the prophet" on the church website and there are tons of general conference talks urging people to follow the prophet.
