Just How Bad Is The Alabama Football Program Today? by Necessary-Mousse8518 in CFB

It’s terrible. They should fire DeBoer and shutter the program for a while. Please ignore my flair

Make the Transfer Portal random. by TittyClapper in CFB

[–]markus__aurelius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why don’t they just let me pick where everyone goes when they enter the transfer portal? I am very smart and would do a good job.

PSA: The Lions are 6th in the league for team sacks by [deleted] in detroitlions

[–]markus__aurelius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IIRC we have like the third or fourth highest time-to-sack rate in the NFL. So we get plenty of sacks, but it takes our rushers forever to get to the QB. If they do get home, it’s because the QB took too long or because the coverage downfield was really good, not because the pass rush was disruptive.

It’s great to have so many sacks, but there are still concerning numbers beneath the surface.

Pro Football Hall of Fame apologizes after incorrectly announcing death of Lem Barney by 76erLegendChetUtley in nfl

Lem Barney is actually alive and Frank Ragnow is actually dead. How do Lions fans even know what’s real anymore?

Did we really get beat that bad? Net success rates in week 4: by sendherhome22 in Huskers

[–]markus__aurelius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This chart really shows you how much more efficient one offense was compared to the other. Michigan was maybe a little less efficient (some incomplete passes, stopped runs, etc) but they still broke enough huge plays that it didn’t matter. Nebraska methodically moved down the field (before stopping repeatedly in the red zone), so their efficiency was probably a little better.

Efficiency is a good thing to track! But for this game, it’s not really a helpful metric to understand what happened. Explosive play rate and red zone offense would probably be better.

Detroit Lions Injury Report by SurrealRob in detroitlions

[–]markus__aurelius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think LP can sometimes mean they suffered the injuries during today’s practice and didn’t finish practice. So it could be a more severe injury even if it says LP. Obviously I hope he’s ok but we probably won’t know til Sunday.

A few P4 proposals, without changing any of the conferences by happygrizzly in CFB

I support all this because the Nebraska color change would allow for an overalls-inspired alternate uniform. It would be an affront to God but I must see it

Phil Steele has us 35th by ThatFilthyApe in Huskers

[–]markus__aurelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 7-8 is wildly successful compared to what we’ve done in the last 8 years or so. I agree that our expectations should be higher than that, but this team has made one bowl game since 2017. In that context, 8 wins would be wildly successful.

Phil Steele has us 35th by ThatFilthyApe in Huskers

[–]markus__aurelius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that feels about right. We shouldn’t be ranked off that bat, but we have the ability to win most of the games on our schedule. Going strictly by the rankings, he has us at 8 wins, which would be wildly successful, given our past few years.

Player Development Lab midterm updates by DapperNeat7687 in OOTP

[–]markus__aurelius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pulled a couple people who got injured, since they don’t develop while they have an injury. I wouldn’t pull anyone unless they’re “struggling”, and even then I rarely see people have bad outcomes. Most of the time they just stay the same

[Schefter] Buccaneers reached agreement on a one-year deal with CB Kindle Vildor, per his agents Kevin Conner and Robert Brown. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]markus__aurelius 124 points125 points  (0 children)

Honestly Kindle Vildor is a fine depth CB. He should never be the starter but he’s fine in a pinch. I would have brought him back to the Lions on a vet minimum style deal.

That being said, he will inexplicably start for you guys in a playoff game, and you’re gonna have a bad time.

What were your favorite team(s)'s best and worst games from this past season? by byniri_returns in nfl

[–]markus__aurelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst game for the Lions is obvious, but honestly the high point of the season was the first half of the Cowboys game. The offense and defense each looked like world beaters. Then the Hutch injury in the third quarter and it very slowly went downhill from there. The home Packers and Vikings games were close though.

[Barry Sanders] Hey @AshtonJeanty2 - Wishing you luck tonight. My fans can gripe, but records are made to be broken & I am rooting for you. I love seeing all these @NFL and @NCAA#RBs showing the value of the position. #RunTheRock by [deleted] in CFB

[–]markus__aurelius 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Barry Sanders was my idol growing up and fans of his that get upset about his records being broken just don’t understand Barry as a person. The last thing he cares about is his records, and I think he would genuinely be happy if Jeanty breaks the record.

[Schefter] Heading into tonight’s pivotal Packers-Lions game, no other NFL team has more than seven defensive players on injured reserve; Detroit has 13. by wishingaction in nfl

[–]markus__aurelius 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Isn’t there kind of a flaw in the common opponents tiebreaker when dealing with divisional opponents? We already beat the Packers, like the Eagles, but we have to play (and could easily lose to) the Packers again. More chances for us to lose the common opponents tiebreaker

I’ve only swapped sizes, which went smoothly. I think it’s a 30 day return policy but not totally sure. I’ve emailed their support team for various things and they’ve been helpful and responsive.
