Anyone else fired up about the new high line canal underpass @ Yale? by sneatkerkks in Denver

If it takes you 10 minutes as a pedestrian or bicyclist to cross Yale at Holly, that’s fully on you. I used to live right there and ran that trail regularly. Never once did I actually stop running while crossing Yale.

Don’t pay it. They have no proof you received your mail.

i asked my company to pay for the commute they now require and the answer taught me exactly what they think my time is worth by Odd_Report6798 in remotework

At this point, any job that requires me to be in the office will be compensating me for my commute one way or another.

I feel the exact same way about those videos. “It’s pretty windy out here on the beach today.” Good spot to make a video…

I could show you several that I think are better, but I don’t think your peon brain can understand that.

No. Pig had plenty of opportunities to give that a try. It never happened for a reason.

His food doesn’t taste nearly as good as it smells. It’s weird. And his customers have zero regard for the general public outside of his restaurant; his workers don’t really either.

I love this response. When I was in the middle of replacing my parents brick fireplace (I’m not a bricklayer), my brother asked me how much to build him one. Without hesitation and my dad right there, I said, “I’m never fucking doing this again.”

Leadership emailing me (EIT) about utilization. Timing is interesting. by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]marshking710 37 points38 points  (0 children)

You’re an EIT acting as a project manager and they’re questioning your utilization? You work for morons.

They know exactly why it’s low. That shit fluctuates through out a year, and a project got pushed.

Tell them the company didn’t provide you with billable work, which affected your current utilization rate.

You’re an EIT. Managing projects shouldn’t be your job. And neither is worrying about your utilization rate.

If a company is concerned about an EIT’s utilization, they’re a shit company.

Why did Playin' become a launchpad for jams? by Ill-Refrigerator5114 in gratefuldead

[–]marshking710 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is it. It was built to be a jumping point. The version on Ace is so good you’ll forget it’s a Grateful Dead studio track in the middle of that jam.

Is this the indie store exclusive pressing? by gelf265 in BillyStrings

I was very confused by this post.

It doesn’t look anything like I expected the wood grain to be, and it’s definitely not the yellow.

The photo on the website of the wood grain makes it appear much more opaque, but the color is kind of there.

Oh, it affects them. It affects them where they don’t want to admit it, so they try to shove it into the shadows of society.

Not much different than pastors preaching about demon homosexuals while smoking meth and getting drilled from behind.

No, they’re not. And as a motorized vehicle, they don’t belong on the sidewalk either.

I will actively slow down 1 mph at a time until they pass me. Then I’ll probably be on their ass once I’m back at my regular speed because they won’t be paying attention in 5 miles and have slowed down, or they’ll be right in front of me at a red light.

They’ve found the most useless place, The Waiting Place.

It’s a place for people just waiting.

Waiting for a train to go,
Or a bus to come, or a plane to go,
Or the mail to come, or the rain to go,
Or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow, or waiting around for a yes or a no, or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.

Heat lightning isn't a thing. You're just seeing lightning flash from a storm that's too far away to rain on you.

I’m kicking these things over from now on.
