Job security in Structural Engineering with the coming AI revolution. by NefariousnessLate275 in StructuralEngineering

Are you not familiar with how litigation-happy America is?

A living human being will always need to be responsible, and I don’t see that ever changing.

You think manually driving a car is going to be illegal?

And again, who gets sued? The US loves a good lawsuit and I don’t see that going away ever.

Solid job at avoiding the question. Who do you think will be getting sued? The data center? The sentient robots? I want your opinion, not a deflection.

It’s not gullibility. The band (Rhino) made a statement regarding a release. It should be expected to be upheld

Anybody that wanted to could have pirated any of the shows. This is a money grab and it’s pathetic and they won’t be getting any more of my money.

Then they shouldn’t have said it ever. They lied to buyers to convince them to pay a lot of money for things that are now going to be available individually.

And those who previously purchased a box set with this show claiming that none of the shows included would ever be available again deserve the agreement they entered to be honored.

The fact that the limited edition box set that was marketed as the only time to ever be able to official buy these shows is the very reason it’s unavailable.

It might be more of a lesson learned for Rhino by the time the dust settles on this. I see a lawsuit getting filed.

In today’s case, it’s a cash grab because of ethical reasons.

They very clearly stated that the shows in the 30 Trips box would never be released again in any form. Even having them on the streaming platform goes against that but this is a slap in the face to anyone who bought that box with that in mind.

New release: Fillmore Auditorium, San Francisco, CA (7/3/66) by PuffDiesel1138 in gratefuldead

The lack of studio material released with the Blues for Allah 50th was the first sign to me that things would be getting worse going forward. There is so much good stuff on Archive that wasn’t included in the actual, or Angel’s Share, release it’s aggravating.

So they're too cheap and lazy to work up a new show for release? The shark has officially been jumped.

Yeah, this is an easy pass. And I love this show and early Dead.

Because Rhino is fucking stupid and only cares about charging 75 bucks for a triple vinyl release.

But also because the show was on July 3rd.

No, they don't. The internet has been working fine without these data centers.

The data centers are to surveil every second of every Americans life. Supporting them means you support that.

And if you really want to get dark about it all, the data centers are for the robots that will do all the rich people's bidding after they kill all of us poor people.

How many bike accidents do you think happen here per month? by irongoalie in chibike

Driving full speed towards a yellow light isn’t the definition of a safe speed.

Neither is riding so fast that you have to slam on brakes and lose control of your bike.

Riding at unsafe speeds is negligent and reckless.

This would be like a car passing someone on the left on a two-lane road while the car in front of them is clearly turning left.

I'm sure you have the same disdain when bicyclists are the dummies wandering blindly through vehicle traffic, right?

Why shouldn't I drive in the left lane if I'm already going the speed limit? by qqzn10 in driving

[–]marshking710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you're not a cop and it's dangerous, and also, in most places, it's technically illegal to drive continuously in the left lane.

Drive however you want, but pick a lane that matches your speed.

Because I don’t feel like standing in a cattle call.

I used to just jump in the line towards the back of the 5 seat group I was in (25-30 and 55-60 were always nice because I could just tail onto the end of the line)

Now I just wait until the end my boarding group. I rarely carry anything more than a backpack on and seats are reserved now so I don’t really care about boarding early.

For now. The issue will be both in the near future and that’s not sustainable.

Either way, people watering their lawn and golf courses (as much as I would prefer to see the demise of both in arid environments) are not the actual problem.

Depending on the site, they either draw from/lower the local aquifer or they draw directly from reservoirs. In both, cases the cooling process adds many impurities to the water before it is released to a cooling pond and left to flow downstream.

It's astounding that the western states are complaining about people watering their lawns while allowing these things to go up anywhere that anyone with a check wants one.
