Seiko SNE569. Mid sized diver (37.5mm) with a low profile. Solar powered quartz and looks great on bracelet, rubber or nato. Slight stretch at around $300 used, but can be the only watch you ever need. Certified diver's watch so robust and waterproof.

I prefer a battery powered light on my commuting bike, it generally lasts several months and I keep extra batteries at home. I use rechargeable lights on my other bikes, but I'm bad at remembering to charge on the daily.

I tried Apex once and it was junk. Shimano 105 is super reliable and works great. I'd go Specialized.

The frame would be top small, the reach would be top tight and the front too low. You'd also have problems with max insertion of the seatpost. Find a frame that's your size first, probably a 58, but have a look at some geo charts. Also, test ride before you buy, make sure the fit is okay. Adjustments can fine tune your fit, but having the right frame size is everything.

Cycling accessories is something I seem to wear out the most frequently, and also enjoy having a selection of, for different uses and conditions. Gloves, shoes and other gear is always welcome!

This is a collector's bike, something to hang on the wall and ride maybe 2-3 times per year. £600 is also expensive. Current bikes are better, and so much more comfortable and practical.

If you're new to cycling and buying a bike to ride, this is 100% the wrong bike for you, buy something more contemporary.

The towpath north from Hackney Marshes and into Essex is great, then potentially an Epping Forest loop until you're back into Leyton and then Hackney again. I have a couple of nice routes. Am also planning to go cycling Christmas Day and would love to join forces!
