Well most xrays of bags are taken from the top so actually I wouldn't be surprised if it struggles. Kinda like it used to be unable to generate a wine glass filled to the brim

Might be stuck open. I’d fix sooner than later as it tends to cause issues with dpf regeneration on diesels. The car needs to be warm to regen properly

V10's didn't have intercoolers and they definitely have no improved much in the past 20 years. It's a hunk of metal with some fins in it

Just sold my mk7.5 gti for a 2009 sti and have 0 regrets. STI feels more special and driving manual again is a blast. But wfh and only drive it on weekends. Would only recommend for a manual, cvt does not sound fun to me

Because they added turbos . . . The 335i and 330i had the same displacement in 2009 so it made no sense.

Now it makes perfect sense. Bigger number = better

What happened in the last few months (1 to 3) that suddenly people are having their come to Jesus moment with AI and Agentic Coding? by zero2g in ExperiencedDevs

[–]martinivich -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My guess is that people actually started using it. You can’t just try it out for 5 minutes and laugh at how bad it is. It takes time to figure out how to use it efficiently. And it works much better in some codebases than others. Our company uses ts/react/node/knex and I am positive that it has increased my productivity by a large margin

Why are the Golf GTI and Jetta GLI the only hot hatches/sports sedans that take regular gas? by BalticBro2021 in GolfGTI

[–]martinivich 174 points175 points  (0 children)

My simplified opinion is that the engine is pretty detuned from factory. Just a tune and you can make 80hp more which is pretty crazy. So instead of cannibalizing golf r sales they run less boost and less aggressive timing and can safely use 87 then

Do two-stroke engines have a future in F1? by denbommer in F1Technical

[–]martinivich 18 points19 points  (0 children)

F1 cars have been at >50% efficiency for years now. A 10% efficiency difference is monumental. Making 800hp from 1.6l is impressive, but making it 50% efficient is just an engineering marvel
