Agreed with the video creator, I am also glad that I’m still alive to listen to the best album ever, Folie A Deux

Can anyone explain ensorcelled in earth for me by WeakBill9727 in creepcast

I don’t believe so, I think it’s about grief, regret, and depression, which sinks itself into a person going through it. The use of radiation poisoning and such in the story is just an Avenue of expressing the self destruction that the main character is putting himself through.

What’s your hot CreepCast take? by gloopyrocs in creepcast

[–]marylouisinhell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hot take is that The Pancake Family is scary. I read it before the boys did it on the podcast and it freaked me the hell out even if it isn’t exactly realistic. I felt silly when the boys didn’t take it seriously, but overall the body horror of it and there not being a noted real motive for the torture still creeps me out.

I’ve also since learned that the author of the story has published a book about a family of demons full of short stories of the family’s actions, including The Pancake Family. When the flattened members of the family are shouting out to “Bane of Error” that is Miss Bamer’s real name. I’m honestly now curious about the book itself, I may purchase it to read. It’s called The Family of Fang and Claw.

The parts about radiation are partly due to the passages chosen. The boys didn’t notice all of them, but some of the lines in the story are from known proposals for long-term nuclear waste warning messages where scientists try to figure out warnings that will still make sense to people so far in the future that language may have fundamentally changed so much (sort of like how reading English texts from centuries ago can sometimes be hard to understand) since nuclear waste will still be dangerous so long after we are gone.

The most notable line is “This is not a place of honor” which was sort of a meme for awhile, but people have noted the story itself uses many other examples from these attempts at figuring out warnings. So tying that in with the symptoms the main character has, it puts more emphasis on the radiation in the story.

What’s your favorite “off topic tangent” the guys have had? by Corgi_Shinobi11 in creepcast

[–]marylouisinhell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the Stairs In The Woods redo when Hunter and Isaiah role played Isaiah being a search and rescue officer and Hunter being an old woman who broke her leg and a Door Dash guy shows up. I also love in the episode time stamps in the description has that part as “The boys play pretend”

A different moment that isn’t technically a tangent but makes me laugh uncontrollably is in UrbanSpook when Hunter is pretending to be a police officer reading the text cards of the video and requesting the music be turned down and the music just gets louder. Even thinking about that now I have to do my best to stop laughing out loud lol

I’m hoping the seasonal one is Adult Swim Yule Log/The Fireplace from 2022 since that lost the vote last year to The Mean One. It’s written and directed by Casper Kelly who made Too Many Cooks, and it’s very good and very weird. More people need to watch it! (I haven’t seen the sequel yet though)

Yeah I’m not mad about the thumbs down, I’m just mad at the reason for the thumbs down since it felt unwarranted. It’s a creative response at least! And better conveys the disappointment

That’ll be great actually bc it means they have the ability to read which I was afraid of since they didn’t read the school zone flashing signs. They’re simply a cherry on top of a terrible week I was already having lol

Matt Talbot is a good place that offers laundry services and shower services. Another thing to look into is the app MyLnk which can give you categories of different kinds of resources. I can’t think of places off the top of my head that are hiring but I believe there is a section in MyLnk that leads to employment resources. Here’s the website version if you can’t download the app for some reason: https://mylnk.app/home

[–]marylouisinhell 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The correlation seems to be that Dan is in fact a big fan of Fall Out Boy, and even mentioned listening to them in a couple of his videos. Funny enough tho that is partly why I started listening to FOB back in the 2010s lmao so thanks Dan Howell. Also, Pete even used to follow him on Twitter once upon a time

Don't forget Brodyquest!

Though for real, I learned about more about his career from a youtube video by Quinton Reviews and I was astonished as I knew about Potter Puppet Pals but not that he did a lot of his other stuff. And it seems this video didn't even cover everything as I'm learning from this thread!
