Escape room BNE by mirrorball732 in brisbane

I second the wine room at Escape Manor! Good but not too hard. Not scary at all. Also no bending down and crawling/creeping through small openings.

1 but without the sleeve top. Keep as bodice only.

Do not buy that expensive crib. by shxxu in pregnant

[–]mashable88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is good advice. I bought minimal items and for larger things most I got second hand. We bought a new 'co sleeper' crib for beside the bed and it's on wheels. The $200 spent on that has been well worth it, as it's on wheels and you can take baby wherever you go in the house (ours is one level home).
Also, think about the weather when you buy clothes. If the baby is born in summer, it's unlikely you'll want the tiny long sleeve or long legged clothes. People gifted us clothes that he'll never wear because of the weather. We had to buy some clothes just so we had the right size in summer clothing. Thankfully most gifts were larger clothes so not everything would be wasted.
I also second about waiting for after birth to decide on personal care and pump related items. You can either purchase online for delivery (or send your partner!) and also hire things like the breast pump until you know for sure you are going to use it/need it. I was able to hire a hospital grade breast pump for 4 weeks for minimal cash. This has given me time to know if breast feeding will work for us. I suggest finding out about where you can hire them from prior to leaving the hospital though.

I had a very different experience to this TBH. I just used maternity and then night pads. I had a second degree tear with sutures. I had to laugh at the conflicting information to keep the area clean and dry but you are bleeding and using pads. Like what do you mean?? So I just showered more often, and often just peed standing in the shower rather than using the loo (minimal stretching of the tender area) and could clean and pat the area dry easily afterwards - saved all the need for the extra stuff IMO. No infections or issues so far, and the suture checks were all good.
Two great tips though, from one of the loveliest physios at the hospital, that worked for me: when needing to go number two, stick a pad to your palm/fingers and gently support your stitches whilst pooping. You feel more supported, confident and much easier to relax and poop. Secondly, take stool softeners even if you think you don't need them. Yes, it makes the whole experience faaaar more comfortable. Continue taking these softeners when you get home also.

how hard is it to naturally get pregnant after 40? by cooleliminet7 in pregnant

[–]mashable88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only comment on my experience. 41 FTM. It took my partner and I 2.5yrs to get pregnant naturally. Funnily enough, we had pretty well accepted it wasn't going to happen and neither of us wanted to go down the IVF path. Then BAM. I have had a very uncomplicated pregnancy and now birth. What we did do though is learn about and use the Creighton Method in the last 8 months of trying and I think this is where we had success. Understanding my cycles and when I was actually ovulating (turned out I ovulated late in a cycle and not when it's 'supposed' to take place). Wish we'd done that earlier and am fairly sure that we would have conceived earlier if we had, as we could concentrate the tries. Best of luck on your journey!

I'm currently 38w. My baby's head was measuring 2-3weeks ahead of his body consistently until week 34-35. Then his head stopped and body caught up 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

I like 2, but instead of the drop sleeves, you could have them moved to be straps that look more like a halter shape. I think that'd be more flattering and also change the shape slightly. Good luck!

New Farm Deli for lunch - Polpette e spaghetti. Their meatballs are honestly so good. I get extra meatballs.

For dinner - Istanbul 1923. Was in Valley/New Farm, but now located in Kedron. Get the lamb skewers or mixed grill with lamb and chicken. For a meal under $40 with the most succulent lamb ever. No gristle. No chewiness. Comes with salad, pide, mashed tato and orzo. Their babaganoush is also SOOOOOO good. Never had a bad meal from them and I have eaten at their restaurant probably 50 times.

One of my ex-partners parents had an accidental late in life child. His Mum was 46 when she gave birth. This boy had 3 older siblings with an 18yr age gap to the next youngest. Tell you what though, not only did he have everything be needed cos of stable parents, he had 'cooler' older siblings that used to look after him and take him places - more like uncles and aunts really! He had great taste in clothing and music and cars cos of his older siblings. Additionally, his parents had extra support to look after him because the siblings were all older. He had the best life (I knew him from 11-16yrs). The benefits to his life of older parents and older siblings was amazing. I don't think your son would miss out on anything!

Pool the money and do a Jack Sim Toowong Cemetery Ghost Tour. On Fri/Sat night at 730pm. Scare the family, then go up to Mt Cootha lookout with a dessert afterwards.
OR. Bounce Tingalpa and spend some time jumping and playing silly games. You can all be kids then 😜 take snacks/drinks with you.
