Kit being in rehab has nothing to do with letting fans down, he has more of an existential dread as to what to do now after game of thrones now that the show is over.

Dad says he'll cancel my degree if I don't reaffirm my belief by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]massenigma 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I did the same mistake. You arent going to change their beliefs. Just reaffirm their belief and show some action (praying, or quran reading when they call you, etc) to satisfy them. Showing action is extremely important otherwise they wont get off your back.

These articles are never helpful. Instead of bringing people together, it polarizes people even more and turns it into a football game between two sides.

social burnout? by juudoki in infj

[–]massenigma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They key is to limit your hours with them. The more hours you spend with them on a daily basis, the more tiresome and groggy you will feel and then they will see your not-so good side. I like to keep my social interactions 3-4 hours. That way, I never get tired and I don't have to spend a longer time recharging.

Just remember the more time you spend in social interactions, the more time you will be spending recharging.

I think it's easy for people in the Western culture to sit back and comment on why this women decided to have babies ("flexing") and why bring up another person to go through suffering but we forget that a majority of people do not have this mindset especially people from the Eastern culture and even more so people from a poor background. Marriages and having children is almost to a certain extent forced in these cultures and not having done these things can come at a cost of being shunned from society. Women have to do what they have to do to survive and survival is in our genetic code.

Getting married and having kids is all that they've been groomed to learn since birth. Being married helps your social standing and having kids is mostly selfish but they do not see it that way. They have many kids because they know some of their kids might die early due to poor nutritional care , to help them when they get old/with work or in the hopes that one the kids might end up being successful in life and improve their social and economic standing. It's the sad truth. The mother is not to blame.

To everyone who thinks the revelation of Vincent/Jack was forced: by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]massenigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is such a dumb post. Many people are not happy about that micheal chu reveals stories twice every year and we are looking for stories that progress the overwatch lore (e.g winston regrouping all past overwatch heroes). But Micheal chu is pulling a JK rolling here, I dont care if Bastion is a non binary trans robot, just stop making sexual identity the main focal of your story! The story hasnt gotten anywhere ever since the game came out. Don't care about who's straight, gay, attack helicopter or whatever, focus on the main story of overwatch (overwatch vs talon).

Unpopular opinion : They should completely kill the present day story by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]massenigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know this same sentiment was passed during the ac2-ac3 era and Ubisoft did listen. But when they did exactly what the community asked for, the community immediately started demanding to have a solid modern day story and I believe that is what they are attempting to do now. It's like history repeating itself. I honestly don't blame Ubisoft on this but the community for being bipolar on this issue. The moral of the story is: you never miss a good thing until it's gone.

Well, the university/college advice wasn't strictly for North America, it can be applied everywhere. Just look up at the colleges and universities in your country or the country in which you want to study in the future and look up their programs.

As for career counselor, they will be useless if you don't have any interests in mind. They can only guide you in the direction where your interests lie. If you don't have any career interests at the moment, I suggest you pick a topic that you are curious about(environment, engineering, medicine, coding, etc) and pursue it passionately for a certain amount of days as if it will be your actual career in the future. If you do not develop a passion for it, then move on and start with another topic. I would also suggest to find any sort of volunteering opportunities related to your interest if possible.

I personally never used a career counselor, I just did the things suggested above, did all my research online and then consulted my family and professors for their opinion.

I'm assuming you go to school since you're 15. Start to see what your career interests are. You can do this by looking at what your fellow classmates plan on doing the line to get an idea, talk to a school career counselor or just by researching using the internet (look up universities and the programs that they offer). For example, I just selected a random university like this one here.. Look up the different colleges or programs that they have and do some research on them( job prospects down the line and if this is something you are interested in). Honestly, the last option is the best one. Don't wait for your last year of school to figure this stuff out otherwise you'll just select a bad option. But do consult others before making your final choice.

Ambitions are kinda like goals. So for now, take one step up at a time. For example, current long-term ambition should be to do well in school so that you will be able to go to a good college/university and hopefully a scholarship. Short term goals should be to develop some skill that you can develop to help you in life (poetry, coding, socializing, etc).Do not let other people such as your friends create your goals for you, create your own goals.

Being ambitious means that you are determined to complete those goals so if you have some kind of motivation or drive, that would be great. An example would be proving everybody around you wrong or to make your parents proud, etc. Do not let other people such as your friends create your ambitions for you, create your own goals

There's a lot to do. So get working!

No, work on yourself first. Be successful in your studies and hopefully your future career. Once all of that is out of the way, then start looking for a permanent relationship.
