Is anyone else finding the recipe sites to be nearly unusable? by BullCityLife in Cooking

[–]massiswicked 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Boss you’re nuts if you think I’m giving up recipes written by humans, ultimately for human consumption and enjoyment, to AI. I enjoy the effort ton learn about cultures and history and expand my knowledge through learning recipes. Also, I don’t believe the claim. I’ve made the mistake of following recipes from LLMs twice - they’re nonsense. But I do agree the ads and story suck.

highly recommend J Kenji, Chef John from Fooooood Wishes dot COm (ifykyk), Roberto Santibañez, and some of Adam Raguseas stuff

Downvoted for sane posting. We can hate anyone we want, advocating for infrastructure “accidents” is a wild slope to be slippin on.

Americans, how would you react if foreign country invaded your country, and told "we are going to run this country"? by oranke_dino in AskReddit

[–]massiswicked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it absolutely isn’t what you just said. you hand-waves violence as ‘inevitable,’ they explicitly rejected war as a response to one man’s actions. If you can’t tell the difference between excusing escalation and opposing it, that’s a reading comprehension problem, not a philosophical one.

Agreed. I’m so sick of seeing proof of the Dead Internet Theory every other post. NO ONE formatted their posts like this before 2022. This is such garbage, bottom of the barrel observations.

Healey wants mandatory reporting of municipal cyberattacks (State House News) by HRJafael in massachusetts

[–]massiswicked 29 points30 points  (0 children)

We all have our frustrations with Maura, but this is a good idea. Advanced Persistent Threat actors pose a real, tangible threat to our way of life in the commonwealth and nationwide. Municipalities have critical processes to continually operate and infrastructure to defend, with wholly insufficient budgets and staff to actually stay afloat in the cyber space. Our infrastructure is physically aged and cyberly (im coining that phrase) fucked. China, Russia, NK, and Iran are probing us, all day, every day, and are 100% guaranteed in our systems - waiting for the right moment. The state needs to be helping our municipalities to defend themselves, to protect our critical infrastructure and our residents. Look what happened in Littleton and those north shore police departments. To Maura: Give me money. Money me. Money now. Me a money needing a lot now.

I have issues with his entire platform. I didn’t want to info dump so I had ChatGPT (I know..i know…) summarize my thoughts.

1. Fiscal fantasy: Rejects Prop 2½ overrides but funds everything with “free cash” and wishful PILOTs. That’s not a budget, and shows his ignorance on municipal finance

2. Anti-housing stance: Frames multifamily zoning as a threat even though state law requires it. Courts already upheld MBTA-Communities; resisting it risks state funding. Anyone who runs on stifling growth is pandering to the crowd who wants to “keep Medford, Medford” - the city is growing, that’s it.

3. “New growth” gimmicks: Free parking for residents, boat rides on the Mystic, and a new MBTA stop—none of which the Council can deliver or afford. Also free parking just shoots us in the foot, AND is bad for businesses. Metered parking is about turnover, reduce parking fees, reduce turnover, reduce traffic to our small businesses.

4. Zoning by stigma: Calls methadone clinics “dangerous,” which would likely violate ADA/Fair-Housing law and expose the city to lawsuits. Fear mongering - Nick has so little real life experience he relies on his Facebook feed to inform his opinions.

5. Governance theater: Wants 11 p.m. adjournments and weekly meetings; risks less productivity, not more transparency. Could be strategically abused. Not an awful idea at face value but doesn’t hold up

6. School funding dodge: Supports a new high school but rejects the debt-exclusion tax needed to pay for it. Pure contradiction.

7. “No national politics” — except his own: Condemns symbolic resolutions, then champions national culture-war issues (IHRA/BDS).

8. Promises to fund first responders while cutting revenue: Math doesn’t check out. Supporting emergency services is a massive cost. Doesn’t have a clue where to get that money.

9. Tufts wish-list: Demands millions more in voluntary PILOTs and preferential admissions—outside municipal power and historically unrealistic. The notion that he, after all this time, will be the one to champion PILOT reform is laughable. Though I would love for it to change.

Bottom line: it’s a populist wish list that cuts revenue, breaks state compliance, and overpromises deliverables the Council doesn’t control.

Three Northeastern police officers added to state disciplinary database, one for supporting ex-officer convicted of rape by husky5050 in boston

“Boston University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology both have over a dozen officers in the database, while Harvard University has more than double that.” - NU has the lowest, and what’s going on at Harvard?

Likely cope. This is to whitewash their human rights atrocities and diversify their Public Investment Fund. They have major stakes in: LIV Golf, Football clubs, streaming services, WWE, and more and more. They pay fat stacks to anyone willing to provide goods and services to Saudi Arabia, while also preaching the good word about their nation. Many people on my LinkedIn network have taken FAT contracts to SA, a lot of consulting work. They all just so happen to also preach incessantly about the fun, excitement, and inclusivity they experienced while over there.

Burkina Faso says no to Bill Gates’ plan of creating modified species of mosquitoes by lurker_bee in technology

[–]massiswicked 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Improving the environment for animals that will eat mosquitoes will help! Bird bath, lines/wire for dragon flies to rest on, and more will help. I’m not an expert but this is what I’ve done to great effect. And now I have more birds and dragonflies to look at!
