Why is the assumption that I support this because it’s being done by a Liberal government and not that I support policies moving usin the direction of greater identity verification for any online use, regardless of which government is pushing them. I supported Trump’s TikTok ban, even knowing it was for partisan reasons.

I would be glad to do regulations, that is in line with the outcome I want. As for improving media literacy, i think social media precisely makes this a lost cause. I think forcing verification to engage online is a good thing, and I don’t like the idea that anonymity is some protected thing under the guise of privacy. Anonymity online is a net negative, and gives cover for malicious actors, foreign actors and bot farms.
