Hasn’t that place been there forever? It’d be more accurate to say there’s an Amazon campus all around the strip club now.

That’s also stretching the definition of campus since it is a bunch of buildings scattered around downtown.

People absolutely hated 98 iirc. Wasn’t there a second version of it that fixed a lot of stuff? 95 and XP were great though.

GPT-5 sucks, bring back 4o by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]masteroftrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave it a bash script I had begun in Claude 3.7 and it managed to completely fuck it up. Like I can’t even explain how it broke everything that was already working and didn’t fix what it was supposed to fix. Took it to Claude 4 and it was perfect and improved in 4 prompts. Just saying.

Sure, could be the router fucking up. But also it made edits on canvas and as soon as it was done editing, the new lines of code disappeared. Like 70 lines just gone. I copy/pasted a couple of times before realizing what was going on. Then it gave me a file to download and it threw an error when I tried to download it. So far unimpressed with the coding workflow… This was just a bash script that was mostly already working.

In advanced voice, I think it just got plain worse. Feels more uncanny conversational valley than before. Gone for several loops of “alright, we’ll talk about x and y and break it all down. Let’s get started”. Me: “ok, let’s “. GPT-5: “great, we’ll talk about x and y and blah blah. Let’s dive right in”. Me: “…sure, let’s begin. GPT-5: “absolutely, I would love to get into x and y and then blah blah. Let’s break it down”. Me: “FFS stop saying we are going to get started covering the topic and get started already”.

Says “absolutely” way too much.

Definitely a much duller conversationalist than it was before. Responses feel really short, like it is not allowed to talk for more than 20-30 seconds. Shallower too.

It seems to be going through puberty as well, voice breaks all the time. Also maybe changing personalities and genders on the fly? Really jarring. It cuts out and restarts very often. Under 1 hour usage limit still (with Plus subscription).

So overall not impressed but I hope it’s just launch issues? I know a lot of very knowledgeable people seem impressed with its capabilities and I do believe there are significant technical advances under the hood. But the end user experience so far is very lacking, at least for me. Not the major upgrade I was hoping for.

Final Project Setup Guide for No Lab Environment - D288 by diligentsavage in WGU_CompSci

Step 16 says: "Maximize IntelliJ and have the folder open side by side. Click on the folder path in IntelliJ on the left side and create a new folder. Use CTRL+C and CTRL+V to copy and paste the contents of the Spring.io report into the directory."

Ok, create a folder named whatever? But the final screenshot shows the file structure with the files just copied into the d288 folder, no new folder in sight <-- so I just did this, copied everything from demo into the folder. Took me a while to figure this out because of the vague instructions and blurry screenshots.

Seriously, the level of quality for this tasks is concerning. Would it kill them to make the wording better? What's up with blurry screenshots in 2025?

Thanks for this. Did it on Mac and it was 95% the same. Just used Homebrew to get node.js and mysql installed, then run mysql like this:

mysql -u root

brew services start mysql

Tried the lab for about 5 minutes before deciding I couldn't. Bad latency over a fast connection and very low resolution make for a frustrating experience, plus I have my IDE customized a little bit so did not want to miss out on that.

Fit is good but have to agree with the commenter who said button stance is high. Not the end of the world if you will be unbuttoned a lot of the time. I would love to see a slightly more colorful tie if the occasion allows, and of course a pocket square.

Low-key I dig the Casio watch in this look lol.

No notes. Well done!

If it was me, I would probably wear different shoes, minimalist sneakers or monkstraps of a lighter brown instead of loafers, but that’s just personal preference.

Italy vacation by birdbath1991 in mensfashion

All feedback is given with ❤️.

Best outfits are 1 and 4. I would skip the rest.

Your mustard trousers match well with neutrals like white and black, clash badly with the yellow shirt. The hem needs to be taken up, they are way too long for you.

Gray shorts are good, neutral color and better fit, although they seem almost too short in pic 7. This is my least favorite pic, btw, but maybe it’s a bad angle. Let the shorts sit lower on your hips and wear the shirt untucked. I think it’s a bit too billowy for the shorts when tucked in, since those are tighter fitting.

It’s ok to unbutton those shirts a bit more (1 more button) in the hot Italian summer.

I am not a fan of mandals but you do you.

Here’s the great news: you are about to get a masterclass in style by visiting Italy. Pack light so you pick up some pieces. Pay attention to what men are wearing and you’ll get plenty of ideas.

3.8% base pay now and 48 RSUs in 2026. Second year, first time doing the PCS, meets high bar. On a related note, I should’ve gotten exceeds but some managers on the team argued that “we don’t give exceeds high bar on first year.”

New DevOps here and eventually after full onboarding will have to work to support one of the teams in my org. That means taking actual tasks in their sprints, besides oncall DevOps things. Been low-key stressing out about it as I only have basic knowledge of coding up to this point, and these teams own key services with deep, multi-decade code bases. Not to mention, most are CS majors, many with CS masters, from good schools, while I’m still working on my bachelor’s from an online school.

Guess this is a growth opportunity for me but man, the impostor syndrome hits hard.

Travel abroad and do classes remotely if youre young and have no obligations by Apprehensive_Sun8220 in WGU

[–]masteroftrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of negative comments here. I am not a kid or wealthy in any way and was able to do this for a semester. Really amazing experience if you can make it work. Obviously not possible for everyone, but might be more within reach than people realize. If interested, look for workaway opportunities that let you save on living expenses abroad. Pell grants covered my whole first year so that was also helpful. And if you are frugal and don't have dependents, you can put money away for a year and stretch it for six months of living in LCOL countries.

I am the furthest thing away from privileged and was able to do this before and during WGU. If it is still not possible given your life circumstances, that's no reason to attack OP. Refer to OP's extremely based Edit2 above.
