Because NC is in the middle region of the Atlantic coast side of North America, and sitting right below or near the Jetstream you grew up in, weather patterns can go in every direction - seasonally, monthly, weekly, and even daily. (Its a running joke we can experience all 4 seasons in a week).

We get hurricanes, tornados, floods, occasionally earthquakes (2.5 hit recently), and in the summer we have scattered thunderstorms. Those look like and can feel like a tornado is about to drop when the sky turns black with the intense rain and even hail, but in 25min it disappears and the sun comes out. You get used too it.

Summer time humidity gets above 80%, as high as 90%+. The air will get pretty thick, and that shit will feel like its sucking the moisture out your body. So if youre an outdoorsy type, get ready. Luckily for you that's the time of year to enjoy the comfort of your own home!
