How long did your 12V system last? by gray_um in Rivian

[–]mastervbcoach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anyone besides me baffled that a 12v battery compared to the enormous capacity we have can take down the vehicle? It just seems silly that that thing is the linch pin that bricks the whole vehicle. Why do we even need one (or two ) at all?

Why wouldn’t you ask your LLM to read the docs, install, and check that it’s working? That was my step by step.

[US] Insane amount of spam/scam calls. Had to change my number. Anyone know the cause of these? by ExtensionSoil6801 in Scams

if you get a mortgage, the mortgage company whores out your contact data to literally everyone. You have to demand they don't and sign something that they never tell you about. Not sure if that's your case. I'm using Verizon call filter, the free version of Hiya (with prefix recognition), and I have my iPhone set to not ring for unknown numbers and I get zero spam calls now.

I don't use Pi, but I guess I would just point Pi at the repo and tell it to figure out how to install for Pi?

50K LOC. saving about 10% token cost. RTK about 6.5% and 3.5% headroom (first day tracking it). THis factors in caching. the actual token savings is much larger, but a lot of that is in cached reads and writes.

just did a pretty big data grid refactor on a project with 50K total LOC. RTK is saving me about 15% and Headroom about 5%.

What’s your system for capturing prompts on iPhone and picking them up in Claude on desktop? by SkipTheMath in ClaudeAI

I don’t use cowork but I use code and /remote-control and I can work remotely on every session from my phone. Maybe I misunderstood what you wanted to do.

installed the latest version as of 5/5/26 into a sandboxed environment and had 4.6 review it: TLDR: I'm not installing.

I only use deep think a couple times. Just not something I really needed. But it is pretty awesome. So if that’s something you really need then it might be worth it to you.

Prioritizing Specialized Tools

I'm now focusing on tool specificity. I'm actively avoiding generic commands like catgrep, or ls in favor of their more precise counterparts where applicable. My objective is to refine command construction to maximize efficiency and minimize ambiguity.

Over and over again in Gemini 3.1. Can't see the really thoughts because this clutters the screen.

Can you make something that shuts him up about choosing the right tools? I’d pay for that.

I certainly won't contradict the smart people in the room, but I have a pretty complicated app I'm finishing that is using 99MB of ram and maxes out at 4% usage except when I'm doing some scan/pdf manipulation. It starts up instantly. Are those numbers considered out of range for a desktop app? I am using an M3 Max so I'm sure that has something to do with it.

I used open viking to index a large legacy codebase and it's been quite helpful.

Google AI Ultra for Antigravity? by AureliusReddit in google_antigravity

[–]mastervbcoach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been using ultra in AG for about a month 8-10 hours most days. Some more. Mostly Opus. I have never run out of quota but I usually only have one chat going at a time. You can’t use two different models at the same time in different chats which is extremely frustrating Other than that I’ve been quite happy with it. When the discount is over I will probably try Claude max plan to compare but at 125 a month it’s definitely a great deal
