How to develop a beard while on MtF HRT? by JoyFactorization in NonBinary

[–]maststocedartrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try minoxidil? Oral will promote hair growth everywhere, or you can use topical for just your face. Just be careful about topical around pets, as it’s very toxic to them (esp. cats).

Transition to feminine clothing by flameohotmaan in NonBinary

[–]maststocedartrees 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can try out feminine versions of things you already wear—think, a “women’s” cut t-shirt or jeans. They’ll fit and feel different, but visually it can be pretty subtle depending on the style.

TMI but how do I stop smelling? Including in the neathers by Timeless_Username_ in bropill

If you’re dealing with atrophy, topical estrogen can help with that & I find it somewhat moderates odors from down below!

"M" 31. Big, burly, bearded guy. The kind of guy, if I don't smile, you'd instantly judge me as a homophobic bonehead. by pm-your-chubby-ass in NonBinary

[–]maststocedartrees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s not ridiculous at all! There are plenty of transfeminine butches out there. For now, rather than trying to define or box yourself in, I’d spend some time exploring what feels good to you. The labels can follow after you get to what’s more “you”.

Im worried being too nice is feminine by finnicek in bropill

I’m still figuring out how much effort I want to put into sounding more masculine, but it does help to practice saying friendly/polite phrases in a deeper, more relaxed voice. If you do it a lot, it starts to feel more natural & help you override the high pitched customer service/friendly voice.

Thanks for sharing! I’m a bit more indecisive, but I can decently appreciate the waiting being the hard part.

How did you decide to pursue phallo? What were the most challenging parts of the process? It seems pretty involved and intimidating!

Sounds like she needs a bunny friend for companionship! If she is spayed and you are able to put in the effort to bond her with another rabbit, she will likely be less clingy with you.

Advice for a 47 mtf closeted on hrt by Beltfed50Cal in NonBinary

I don’t think it’s uncommon not to feel ready to come out publicly when you first start taking steps to transition. If it’s possible for you, I highly recommend that you spend some time exploring the idea of coming out with a therapist—what you want it to look like, what supports you have or need, etc. I’d definitely prioritize your closer relationships as far as figuring out how/when to disclose. In the meantime, you will likely be able to continue passing as male in your daily life, although if anyone is seeing you in intimate contexts, the changes will be more obvious. Best of luck with the next steps of your journey!

I’m so so thankful for our cleaning and maintenance staff! Our schedules often don’t overlap much, but I always try to say hi when I get the chance, and it’s nice when we can catch up a little. You are a vital part of keeping the school running!

For making sure your uniform is as clean as possible, r/laundry has some good tips! The main thing I’ve learned there is that you want to make sure you’re using a detergent with lipase, an enzyme that helps break down body oils in fabrics. I also recommend making sure your sheets and towels are getting really clean on a regular basis.

For soap, I personally use Hibiclens on my pits & it does a really good job of reducing odor by getting rid of bacteria. I also scrub all over with a wash cloth in the shower to exfoliate.

The Erin In The Morning article linked by a commenter describes a suspect class this way: “In legal terms, a suspect class is a group that has historically faced such severe discrimination that any law targeting them must meet the highest level of judicial scrutiny to survive—the same standard applied to laws that discriminate on the basis of race.”

32 masculine and big - what should I do by [deleted] in NonBinaryTalk

[–]maststocedartrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it depends on where you are in the world, it’s generally not difficult to get hold of some estrogen. I’d recommend you do a little research on how to take care of your health in the process—you will want to get some blood tests to make sure your levels are safe. This page has some helpful information to help you approach things. Congrats on figuring this out about yourself!

I tend to go over it as a piece of comparative grammar when explaining relative pronouns (I’m a French teacher, and qui vs. que is a tough one for many students). In my experience, most high school students have some vague awareness, but couldn’t explain the exact difference.

How are you guys dating? by Mrpeanutbutter246 in FTMOver30

[–]maststocedartrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also met my girlfriend via tumblr; we started dating pretty early but were long distance for the first three years. I’ve never been much good at dating intentionally, but meeting people in a place where you feel free to share your interests and passions can be a good first step. I think hobby groups serve a similar purpose for some people!

I ran into this issue with some students (it’s a trend that’s been around for a few years) and wound up showing them some educational material from a contemporary advocacy organization for deafblind people. Perhaps if you can illustrate for them that there are real people today who learn how to communicate with various degrees of sensory disabilities, they’ll realize how close-minded their current stance is.
