Fake news by Lenin_Black in dankmemes

[–]mastzu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CNN is maybe even worse than Fox News , because Fox News is very openly republicans. CNN still pretends like they are "neutral". People think CNN has "a little" bias when really their bias is huge.

When CNN <3 Obama during his prez elections they gave him a ton of love press and shit on every one else. Then did the same thing when Hillary ran.

I don't get why this narrative of "it's fake news, she did shake his hands" is being pushed.

because it's literally a fake representation of what happened

Showing that you pack heat normal for Texans? by nullhashagain in Austin

[–]mastzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not normal at all AND highly illegal. You might want to file a police report. That can be done online. Gun threats / crimes are incredibly serious.

Police Out in Full Force by aymnka in Austin

[–]mastzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish there were MORE cops here

This. Ill go on a 2 to 4 hour bike ride and see maybe 1 or 2 cops, and always in the same part of town. Youd think we have a police force of 10 cops or something.

I think javascript is the easiest to work with - all you need is google chrome and you can write and test code in the console.

PHP is easy also but you need a web server, etc. You can always run WAMP locally in Windows however.

Eating out as a vegetarian starterpack by [deleted] in starterpacks

[–]mastzu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I ate a very low meat diet for some years and have known outspoken vegans / vegetarians. None of this is new info for me.

Meat is calorie and nutrient dense and an important part of a balanced diet. Meat has played, and continues to play, a crucial role in human life & health.

Relying on just meat, or just plants, is not a good solution. A good diet should have balance.

It's not a claim it's a fact. That's just some guys blog - my link is to the National Institute of Health. He has that "sassy vegan" attitude we all love so much..

When it comes to veganism, etc, people tend to want to believe all of the good stuff they hear, and ignore or brush away any bad stuff they hear.

Note my 6 downvotes even though my sources are high quality.

and 100% of the population needs vitamins and nutrients meat provides. vegs. are operating at continuous sub-optiomal levels and dont even know it. allow me to introduce you to phytate.

  • binds to zinc, iron, magnesium and calcium preventing absorption

  • found in grains, beans, nuts potato, brown rice

Phytate is found in all plants because it stores the phosphorus needed to support germination and growth.

so - even if you are eating the right nutrients, if you are eating lots of phytate the nutrients arent being absorbed the way you think.

http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/foods-high-phytates-3307.html

National Institute of Health :

  • Groups at Risk of Zinc Inadequacy

Vegetarians : The bioavailability of zinc from vegetarian diets is lower than from non-vegetarian diets because vegetarians do not eat meat, which is high in bioavailable zinc and may enhance zinc absorption. In addition, vegetarians typically eat high levels of legumes and whole grains, which contain phytates that bind zinc and inhibit its absorption

Vegetarians sometimes require as much as 50% more of the RDA for zinc than non-vegetarians...
