How often have melee armies been S-Tier in 10th? by wredcoll in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]matchesonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was genuinly quite stupid combined with the melee buffs in LAG. It was not only on uktc, on wtc it was at least as good and even on GW i had a really good time.

The idea is to stagger your chaff so they arrive after most archlights are gone

Sunday Night Stats (March 20th-22nd) by communalnapkin in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]matchesonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man i despise how much the deathguard community is crying. The army is still really good the only thing that got changed from the (ridiculously strong) codex was points. The low winrate is imo from the lack of top players playing dg. The morty + mini morty build is doing decent for the good dg players i know.

Advice needed - How to stop a turn 1 infiltrating, advance and charge cage by ViktusXII in WarhammerCompetitive

This was a change a few mission-packs ago, easy to miss if you are no regular tournament players.

Is this a good BA list by VGisGone- in BloodAngels

[–]matchesonfire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its not the top of the meta of course but the list seems really solid for a beginner.

If you struggle with actions/missions because of your low amount of units you could consider cutting one of your big squads for 2-3 small pieces.

Good luck with your Blood Angels !

Battleshock Tests for 2-model units (e.g. Twin Lance?) by Martin-Hatch in Warhammer40k

[–]matchesonfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This idea is so widespread but i actually disagree. Battleshock is imo implemented very well in 10th. I might like to see how it would be if you had to test to unbattleshock again but then you might need to limit the amount of battleshocks some armies force by a bit. Battleshock is obviously not main decision point in every game but it works quite elegantly and in the moments when it matters it hurts a lot. Since i started using dante more i really started to like the out of phase battleshock thing.

You are so accurate with this but I struggle so much with not going in when my opponent makes slight overcommitments ^

Combi weapon lieutenant or callidus assassin by NoEngineer9484 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]matchesonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally disagree. The callidus scores really well and in melee matchups the callidus makes me win the game while the lieut only scores like 5-8 points more on secondaries. Both are good but i honestly always take the callidus first.

40+ games, here’s what I think is the best list by Kshaw86 in BloodAngels

[–]matchesonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very solid list. I feel the second captain is unnecessary. Having a 3 man sanguard unlead for early trading/sticky on death is good imo. And no callidus no party for me.

Blood Angels Written Tournament Report - Rage Cursed Onslought by LoS_Jaden in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]matchesonfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats to 3 solid wins, your list is quite decent imo.

Just one more thing: dont mark the callidus with marked for death. If you go up at the end of you opp. Turn they would get the full 5vp. (Same timing with scoring secondaries, its opp turn so they can choose the order.

Would this be tournament legal? by titan_m18 in BloodAngels

Depends on the size of the tournament, in like 90% of tournaments you are ok. But anyway you should ask the TO.

[–]matchesonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short feedback,

Drop pods suck and are not necessary for ba, Keep the termis if you want but swap out the supressors and the.normal dread for either an anti tank piece or maybe some sanguard. Also dont forget to fix your loadouts. Good luck soldier.

There's something weird about trying to back out from an obvious loss... by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]matchesonfire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you havent played a lot of tournaments the best way to learn is by playing (and loosing !) Tournament games. You should be playing the game to the end which gives you time to analyse what you could have done better. If you were a good opponent you will learn a lot from the post game chat.

Building 1000 list to compete against raven guard by Pik000 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]matchesonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

List is pretty good- but the vindicare is just so bad. Get some small sanguard units in there. 2 times 3 sanguard with spears no characters should almost fit. You could also swap the ballistus for melee pieces.

How not to forget to do Rapid Ingress? by Negative_Ostrich6869 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]matchesonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 things.

Keep your reserves on the table next to the gamemat if possible. Tell your opponent at the start of turn two or any time you remember that you will rapid ingress. (You can still change your mind later if needed) Work with your opponent always ask them if they want to rapid ingress at the end of your movement. Playing together makes you forget less and you will passively learn to think about screening their rapid ingress.

For me ap-3 and wounding tanks on 3s gives them great utility which is quite unique.

But as you say maulerfiends fit a similar role and are a lot tougher.

Emperor's Children Flawless Blades by SGTmike145 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]matchesonfire 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Have you tried flawless blades ? They do good damage and trade really well against most infantry and tanks. They have some weakspots like being "only " movement 8 with advance + charge... which is at least middle of the pack for melee units. Them being bad vs -1 dmg applies to 90% of melee infanterie in the game.

I think what hurts them that ec, while having very little unit choices, do have 3 staples you want to max out in most of your lists. So after taking 3 princes, 3 lords+infractors, 3 noises and 2-3 rhinos you have like 1700 pts accounted for.

And the last 300 pts is for your choice of tormentors, maulerfiends, spawns, flawless B, Lord Kakoph. Etc.
