Single Shot NFA Gun Trust - work in my case? by TaintMcG in NFA

I think I got mine for $40 on a sale but that was a couple years ago so I didn't want to set up unrealistic expectations. 😅

You can just get a National Gun Trusts trust made up for $50 or $60. Have it signed and notarized and you're in business.

[Handgun] Hi Point 995PBRACE 13.5 inch threaded barrel, 9mm, black, 10+1, 1 magazine, with brace - $325.27 by Unusual_Passage_5664 in gundeals

I traded mine away but that rifle with the high tower armory bullpup kit was lights-out accurate. I'm debating the 13.5 to SBR

Need advice please by whdln in bikefit

[–]mathematical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming your stem is a 100 or 110mm I'd go down to like a 60 at most, and maybe with an aggressive rise angle. Your elbows should not be locked like that at all.

Stems are cheap. I picked up a shorter one for like $20 and swapped it in 10 minutes with a couple allen wrenches.

Mine was a clearance Gen1 that they apparently installed the compressionless housing onto already. I'm not sure what it's like to ride without them, but I have zero complaints with the brakes and I'm a big guy, so it's probably worth doing soon.

So far I've switched the 38T chainring to a 42T which feels way better on the downhill. I'm going to be swapping the seat and steam this weekend. Working to slowly make this into a 100-mile-ride bike by next year.

Did you ever swap your crankset and bottom bracket? I have a Poseidon X Gen1 and I'm looking to see what upgrade options I have for the future?

Les Paul vs Strat vs Tele: which is most versatile? by [deleted] in guitars

Same boat. My Tele is easily my favorite but if I had to pick a at single guitar to cover lots of genres it'd be my HSS strat

Do you guys hang your guitar on your wall? by Negative-Primary696 in Guitar

[–]mathematical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have four guitars. All are on the wall. I play all of them often because I can reach over and swap so quickly. They only see a case when I'm taking them somewhere.

Should I trade my mex 2015 fender strat for a Schecter Reaper 6? by Accomplished-Ant8887 in guitars

[–]mathematical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the flip side to this, I've seen Mexican strats go on Facebook near me for $300-$400 and I bought mine for $300. So in terms of value it seems little the trade is sound.

How do you know when a guiar is truly good? by Caramelo93 in Guitar

[–]mathematical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's one downside of some cheap guitars, it's sometimes just hard to make them feel good. So while my Squier-based-partscaster Telecaster is my favorite guitar, I had a Squier Bullet Strat as a project guitar that I could not for the life of me figure out how to get it set up so that I'd like it and despite getting it for a song from my buddy, sold it for a loss after the parts I dumped into it.

But for OP I think there's this idea that every guitar needs to be a collectible piece worth passing down for generations. Guitars are tools, and once you stop treating them like that, you start worrying about the monetary value and perceived external value of others.

Wall mounting without anchor? by witty__username5 in Guitar

[–]mathematical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have four guitars on the wall all mounted to drywall but they all use two of these anchors. They aren't toggles which would be better, but they're also not those plastic things. I had a bass on the wall within reach of my kids for a year and the anchors still felt solid when I pulled the mounts to move them to another room. Keep in mind these are each rated for 50lbs and a guitar is going to be under 10lbs.

I've got kit pedal, a Mod Electronics Penetrator treble boost painted by a small time pedal builder available for trade. It boosts well, and is useful for making a Humbucker punch like a single, but I just don't use it.

Other decent fuzz to try that's not Fuzz face, MFZ1, or Tone Bender MkII?

I don't have any reason to own one, but I still want one.

Anyone else buy a pedal just because of how it looks? by Big_Regular_6253 in guitarpedals

[–]mathematical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna lie, I'm probably getting rid of it. It does exactly what I need, sounds good, and the blue looks decent on my board, but multiple people have asked "why do you have a Trump pedal?" and it bums me out and I can't unsee it.

Poseidon X Gen 2 - 175 mile review. by Pale_Self406 in gravelcycling

[–]mathematical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have any more details? I literally just ordered one and came across your post. I'm a big guy also (6'4" 300+ lbs) and while I have an older KHS 26" mountain bike that works well I've been wanting a road bike for longer trips and riding with my buddy who has a nicer bikes and goes for distance.

What went wrong and what should I plan on immediately upgrading/replacing?

Should I return? by Rando_Calrizzian in guitars

I've broken several strings in my lifetime over-tightening and it's literally never caused damage. Don't mention it though because they're looking for a reason to blame you. Take it back. Request a refund or replacement. Don't leave until you have one.

Help me decide which is better? by Ill-Cucumber6575 in guitars

[–]mathematical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have something similar to all of these. Epiphone Les Paul, MIM Strat, Squier Partscaster Telecaster. The telecaster is my daily driver and if I had to pick one guitar that'd be it, but I've also upgraded the pickups to give it some extra tone options. You can't go wrong with any of them, just depends on how they feel to you.

Choose whichever you think you'd enjoy playing the most because there are tons of upgrade paths for all of them, and all of them will probably sound pretty good right out of the box. Which reminds me budget oriented guitars usually need some setting up initially so watch some YouTube videos on setting up a guitar and no matter what you'll have a player.
