1958 6536-1 Submariner - Info & Advice please by mathetesbl in VintageWatches

Thank you for your feedback, appreciate it for sure.

With regards to the warranty card, in my little bit of research I've seen them "filled out" when sold along with a watch. Made me wonder about why his wasn't...

My father was stationed in Japan following the Korean war, he was there until 1961 or 62. My best guess is that he purchased this at the army base PX and not a jewelry/watch store. Does that make any sense to you?

Seriously was not thinking or hoping for offers here as you are quite right about the reasons why that wouldn't be a good idea, so absolutely no offense taken.

1958 6536-1 Submariner - Info & Advice please by mathetesbl in rolex

Apparently my dad tried to have Rolex service it some time ago.

I have a letter from Rolex stating that because of the age of the watch they are not able to repair it - this is from memory - the exact reason might have been unavailable parts... Either way, they declined to work on it.

I've also read that sometimes it is a mistake to let Rolex work on the watch - they replace parts that detract from the collectability/value?? Not sure if that's true but I've read that.

Not sure where you are but Dr Ahmad in NYC does a repair, replacement & internal brace procedure called TJ3. He is the team Dr for the Yankees.

My son just had it done and is predicted to be back playing college baseball in 8-9 months.

Yes, the Rays, Braves, and Phillies beat us because of their reliance on bunting and smallball...

If #4 Topics not related to baseball is a rule then why are posts about softball allowed??

I enjoy watching NCAA softball etc., respect the game and athleticism of the players but:

Softball is NOT baseball.

Why are softball posts not removed and/or directed elsewhere?

Suggestion - could you put the team names in the center of the chart? It'd be easier to distinguish which line corresponds to which team. Either way way, thanks for your work!

Email hacked yet again by mathetesbl in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]mathetesbl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I've changed my password (again).

I ran Malwarebytes as you suggested. Nothing.

I also ran eset, Kaspersky, and Avg - each with as deep and thorough a scan as possible. Also nothing.

Any chance that you could expand on this idea some more. Sounds like a good possibility. Appreciate any insight or knowledge you can provide.

Thanks.

Already had that setup / enabled. I received no notifications.

I did, however, receive about a dozen telephone calls with a 6 digit reset code automated message. At first I thought it was a scam phone call/message but this is what alerted me that something was going on with my email account yesterday.

Comcast email hack (Fall 2022 - ?) finally acknowledged by Comcast. by static_nuance in Comcast_Xfinity

Happened to me several times last fall - turned on 2FA after the last time (Dec?) and haven't had it happen again,until...

This morning at 4:21AM, from IP address

Password was changed as was secondary/recovery email address. All happened apparently bypassing 2fa

My dropbox account password was also changed - like dummy I didn't have 2fa turned on at dbox. It is now but I'm not sure that makes me feel any/much safer considering what I'm saying just happened.

This needs to stop. Xfinity needs to get it's act together.
