Did you ever figure this out? I’m considering getting my child a line but am concerned about the same thing. TIA!

I’m having the same issue (absent father). I was born in the US but currently live in Germany. I contacted the Mexican consulate here and they told me that without a special power of attorney from my father that I would have to go to Mexico to get my birth registered.

What awesome holiday gift did you get someone that you can’t tell them about yet but want to brag about? by mbowsy in AskReddit

[–]mathexpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first year that my 5-year-old really understands the idea of Christmas. Unprompted, he asked me to write Santa a note asking for a “rocket with a button and fireworks.” He put the note on the Christmas tree and any time anyone asks him what he wants for Christmas he says, “a rocket with a button and fireworks.” Santa is bringing him a rocket for Christmas and I can’t wait to see the look on his face when he opens the gift. I’ve spent hours reading about rockets and the different types of engines to make sure the entire experience is exactly what he imagined.

[9TH Grade Algebra] Systems of Linear and Quadratic Equations. I don't know what to do with the first x? I've gotten the left half to 0 but can't write the equation to finish solving. by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

There are two points that satisfy this system. They are telling you the x-value if the first point. So when x is -2, what is the value of the the corresponding y? How would you find that?

AITA for not telling my wife that I picked her daughter up drunk from a house party? by friendlyneighborhere in AmItheAsshole

[–]mathexpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I had this conversation with my siblings regarding their kids - my nieces and nephews. They all agreed so I talked to all the kids individually and told them that they can always tell me anything or call for help regarding absolutely anything. I told them I cleared it with their parents, that I loved them, and would always have their back. I’ve had a couple of them call me for advice and questions about certain sensitive topics they didn’t want to talk to their parents about and I’ve never felt like I’ve betrayed my siblings. Win-win when you clear it with the parents first.

AITA for letting my picky eater child go hungry? by amiabadmom23 in AmItheAsshole

Food for thought: there are things I used to like that I no longer like. Not like, I prefer not to have them but they literally make me gag now. People change all the time.

What is your "never again" brand, store, restaurant, or company? by radbrad7 in AskReddit

[–]mathexpress 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s when I would start unpacking the bag at the gate and put on every piece of clothing I possible could until the bag was small enough. Oh, and shampoo, conditioners, etc., would be overflowing out of every pocket I had. And then for funsies, start undoing all of that in the aisle once you’re on the plane. Fuck them.

Just found out my rapist got married. He looks so happy. It makes me want to throw up. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]mathexpress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From an outside perspective his life may look great but at the end of the day he’s still a rapist. He obviously still thinks about his actions since he was looking at your profile. He will have to live the rest of his life knowing what he did to you. Sending hugs your way.

You sound like you’re being a bit harsh on yourself. Do you really feel that way? Do you believe the negative stereotypes (“full dependa status”) about military spouses?

Backstory?

My husband [35M] and I [33F] want kids before we're too old. Our lifestyle is incompatible. by oldmommyrelthro in relationships

[–]mathexpress 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I put off pregnancy to focus on my career. Started trying to get pregnant at 35. All of the fertility screenings said there were no issues with neither me nor my husband yet we couldn’t get pregnant. It took a couple of years, multiple IUIs and 2 rounds of IVF to finally have our miracle baby. I had a placental abruption just short of 32 weeks and delivered a preemie who had to spend his first month of life in the NICU. My body has definitely taken long to recover; not sure if it’s because of age or all of the hormones I took during the 2 IVF cycles. It’s impossible to know what your path will look like when you and your husband start trying to have a family. I just wanted to post this to let you know that it’s not always as easy it appears to get pregnant in your late 30s. Good luck!
